NEW GENERATION THE LIVE: Ultraman Decker STAGE 2. "Decker into Space" (NEW GENERATION THE LIVE ウルトラマンデッカー編 STAGE 2『Decker into Spaceデッカー イントゥ スペース』, Nyū Jenerēshon Za Raibu Urutoraman Dekkā-hen Sutēji Tsū "Dekkā into Supēsu") is the second stage show held at Ultra Heroes EXPO 2022 Summer Festival. One of its performances on August 27 was livestreamed.

The plot takes place after the last three episodes of Ultra Heroes EXPO 2022 Summer Festival Voice Drama.

Synopsis[]

When Ultraman Decker is flung into another universe, he encounters a mysterious robot, as well as other Ultra Warriors fighting against a great evil.

Like the previous stage show, the performance ended with a segment featuring various Ultra Heroes battling Absolutians, announced by HANE2 as the Finale (フィナーレ, Fināre).

Plot[]

The show opens with a nameless robot awakening in the darkness. Through a voice recording, the sentinent machine is told by its creator, a raspy-voiced scientist, that as it doesn't yet possess a heart of good or evil, it is up to them to decide their own path. The mecha accepts their orders and leaves to enact them.

Meanwhile, Sphere-Zetton and Sphere-Eleking have appeared on Earth. HANE2 calls for Kanata Asumi's arrival and he promptly transforms into Ultraman Decker to battle the foes, soon switching from Flash Type to Strong Type to withstand their attacks. Although he fights admirably, energy released from the two monsters generates a wormhole that sucks Decker and HANE2 inside.

Kanata and HANE2 quickly realise they are in another universe and on another planet, but just as the start to search for an exit, they hear a muscial chime and are greeted by the robot from the beginning of the show. HANE2 scolds Kanata for greeting the robot so friendlily, but he pities it when it informs them that it has no name or idea of who they are, so he tells the robot that they can join them on their journey. Based on a robot anime he watched as a child, he names the robot "Mountain Gulliver II-V", writing "II-V" on its chestplate.

Elsewhere, Ultraman Zero, Ultraman Geed and Ultraman Taiga are engaged in a battle against Alien Reiblood and his army of monsters, which includes Zamsher, Cyber Mecha Baltan, Hellberus, Red King, Zenekindarl people and Alien Raybeak. While Reiblood does possess Reibatos's lifeless body to join the fight, he declares that he has no need for a body, because as long as his soul remains, he can wear out the three heroes.

As Decker and II-V are exploring the planet, they are abruptly pulled into Geed's battle, and the two Ultras introduce themselves to each other, with Geed first mistaking him for Ultraman Dyna. Decker transforms into Miracle Type, allowing the two to make short work of their opponents.

Afterwards, they explain their situations to each other, and Geed suggests that Decker should leave since this universe is under attack, but he is determined to help out. This perplexes Mountain Gulliver II-V, who demands an explanation to why he would want to fight for a universe he has nothing to do with. Decker reasons that it's simply because he is an Ultraman, who he believes are allies of justice. He also mentions being inspired by Ultraman Trigger. This allows the robot to comprehend the concept of justice.

The conversation is then interrupted by more monsters. Understanding that justice is defending those who are hurt, II-V enters combat mode after witnessing the two Ultras get injured by their foes. The robot single-handedly and expertedly defeats all their enemies, utilizing a beam attack called the Spacium Cannon and stealing Zamsher's sword in the process. Decker is shocked by this, so II-V reveals their past, that they were created by a mysterious scientist who was gone when they awoke, only leaving behind a voice recording. A blue bird flying by then briefly lands on the robot's shoulder, and Decker teaches II-V that the bird is one of the life forms they protected.

They are then interrupted by Reiblood, who proclaims that goodness isn't the only option, afflicting the robot with a small "Heart of Evil", which it successfully installs before starting to attack Decker and Geed.

Meanwhile, HANE2 is contacted by Marluru, Ichika Kirino and Soma Ryumon from the GUTS-Select base. To aid Decker, Marluru describes a technique to the audience, where they must swirl their hand in a circle to send light to the Ultras.

While Decker and Geed are unable to stop II-V's onslaught, Zero and Taiga reappear, struggling against Sphere-Zetton and Sphere-Eleking. Reiblood reveals that while he has taken control of the two Sphere monsters, this is not the case for II-V, because he only triggered the robot's sense of evil, and it chose evil on its own. After Reiblood reveals that this was the same thing he did to Belial years ago, Geed becomes invigorated, and assures Decker he can teach II-V what a heart of good is, but it impaled by the II-V's blade mid-sentence and thusly defeated.

Decker begs II-V to stop, though they reassert that being evil is its own choice, now having learnt what good and evil are. Decker refutes that it's not about definitively deciding to be either good or evil, but bettering yourself over time, stating that that is how their creator wanted them to live. By recalling the scientist's words, and with a strike to the heart from Decker, II-V reverts to their original state. But before they can speak, they stand in the way of two powerful beams from Sphere-Zetton and Sphere-Eleking to protect Decker, taking considerable damage. Concluding that they will enact their own vision of justice, II-V makes a final stand against the two monsters. Decker is unable to do anything but watch as the robot is brutally beaten, with one of its arms ripped off in the process. In their final moments, II-V declares they will protect all life, before vanishing into an explosion.

Weakened and alone, Decker reverts back into Kanata. HANE2 returns and calls upon the audience to use Marluru's hand-swirling technique, telling Kanata that they haven't given up yet. As the audience chants Decker's name, a lone Ultraman approaches the fallen hero.

"Stand again. If you call yourself an Ultraman, you can't fail to respond to their voices."
"If I'm... an Ultraman?"
"The real fight... has just begun!"

Shin Asuka/Ultraman Dyna to Kanata

Realizing that in the eyes of the audience, he's an Ultraman too, Kanata regains his strength and transforms. Decker, Zero, Geed and Taiga appear together and face Reiblood's last set of monsters. However, even after they win, Reiblood unleashes a gigantic Spheresaurus, announcing that the real terror has just begun. Although the heroes don't give up, they are in trouble until an expected Spacium Cannon strikes the two foes. With the audience empowering the Ultras once more, they continue the fight, enraging Reiblood. Geed declares that power doesn't come from strength, but connections between hearts, and because Reiblood doesn't understand that, he will never defeat the Ultras. Kanata returns to the stage for everyone to fire one last beam attack, destroying both Spheresaurus and Reiblood simultaneously.

After Taiga thanks the audience, they wonder about the Spacium Cannon they saw, with Decker believing II-V must have survived. HANE2 then reminds Kanata they need to get back to their dimension, so he begins to run off, but Zero tells him he can take him back instead. Decker shakes his hand in thanks, causing Zero to be reminded of another individual who also never gave up, as Dyna watches them from behind the audience. Asserting that he will always reach for a peaceful future, Decker and the others pose one last time before leaving the stage.

As the birds living on the planet they protected fly by, a familiar musical chime can be heard.

Finale[]

The finale has numerous Ultras face Absolutians, four aliens and Ultrawoman Grigio Darkness, with each hero getting their time to shine. When the aliens start to be attacked by Grigio Darkness, Ultraman Zero recruits them to perform the dance from the "Wake up Decker!" music video in the background as the battles continue.

After all eight Ultra Warriors defeat the enemies with a combined beam, Trigger and Decker perform a Cross Touch, with Kengo, Kanata and Asuka appearing on the stage screens. The Ultras then walk around the audience waving, before returning to the stage, posing, and leaving.

Trivia[]

  • Mountain Gulliver II-V initially speaks with a childish voice when they first awaken, but has an older-sounding one by the time they encounter Kanata.
  • Insert themes "Discover STRONG" and "Definitive MIRACLE" debuted in this show before being officially announced at the "Ultraman Decker" Special Night event on August 25.
  • Stock footage of Ultraman performing a Spacium Beam and scenes from the final episode of Ultraman Trigger: New Generation Tiga are shown on the stage screen when Kanata talks about what being an Ultraman means.
    • Belial is also shown on-screen when Reiblood talks about him.
  • The audience is not allowed to cheer to prevent the spread of COVID-19, hence the hand-swirling technique to energize the Ultras.
    • Likewise, HANE2 also tells the audience that even if they only shout Decker's name in their hearts, he will still sense it.
  • For shows without Hiroki Matsumoto appearing onstage, when Decker is defeated, Kanata's body floats on-screen as Decker lies on the floor in his place.[18]
  • At the final performance on the last day of the festival, Mountain Gulliver II-V and the festival staff appeared onstage after the Finale to wave goodbye to the audience.[19]
  • Alien Reiblood possessing Reibatos's body to fight would later occur in Ultraman Regulos: First Mission.
