Monsters Unforeseeable! Kneeling Before the Rising Sun (怪獣無常!昇る朝日に跪く, Kaijū Mujō! Noboru Asahi ni Hizamazuku) is an unproduced episode of Ultraman Taro.

The draft of this script was confirmed to exist in the June 1984 issue of "Uchusen" magazine and in the works of Akio Jissoji[1]. However, as the script was not accepted, the episode was never produced.

Synopsis[]

An alien invader secretly infiltrated Earth and abducted humans longing to "go far away" through various giant religious buildings around the world, transporting them to a different dimension.

The invader is currently lurking within the Great Buddha of Kamakura, continuing its abductions. ZAT, investigating numerous disappearances, accidentally discovers that the Great Buddha's eyes emit red light, revealing the true identity of the invader. Subsequently, the invader is exposed when struck by ZAT's fourth-dimensional X-rays.

Due to being covered in a barrier, the invader boasts formidable defense. When Ultraman Taro is in dire straits, the true form of the Great Buddha becomes angry and intervenes, crushing the invader with a divine blow.

On a lazy afternoon in autumn, ZAT headquarters received a call from Detective Kinoshita of the Kamakura Police Department. Kotaro and Moriyama listened to Kinoshita's report at the police station. According to Kinoshita, there had been numerous mysterious disappearances in the area recently. However, Kotaro seemed uninterested in the request to find the missing individuals and didn't pay much attention to Kinoshita's report. Instead, upon returning to headquarters, he continuously blamed the team members.

Meanwhile, Kinoshita's investigation continued. Despite the lack of any leads, the number of missing cases kept increasing. One morning, ZAT received another request for assistance. It seemed that the police didn't consider this just a routine disappearance case. Other members besides Kotaro were dispatched to the scene, while Kotaro remained at headquarters to handle communications.

In the latest disappearance case, someone witnessed the missing individual expressing a desire to die or leave the world in front of the Great Buddha of Kamakura before mysteriously vanishing. However, after an investigation inside the Kamakura Daibutsu, no anomalies were found. When the clueless ZAT members returned to headquarters, Kotaro was seen in the room examining documents, as if conducting some sort of investigation. It was reported that Kotaro caught a momentary flash when he accidentally observed the Great Buddha with a perspective device. Furthermore, data collected by ZAT from around the world confirmed several mysterious disappearances of humans around giant religious structures.

That evening, another human disappearance occurred in front of the Great Buddha, witnessed firsthand by Kinoshita. ZAT immediately mobilized and initiated the operation of the fourth-dimensional X-rays. The fourth-dimensional X-rays were projected onto the Great Buddha, finally revealing an alien invader emerging from within the Great Buddha.

The invaders exploited human weaknesses, kidnapping them into alternate dimensions, with the intent of turning humans into slaves of the universe. ZAT and Ultraman Taro launched an attack against the invaders. However, they were unable to withstand the formidable power of the invaders. Soon, the eastern sky brightened, and clouds displayed magnificent patterns.

In that dazzling dawn, the Great Buddha unexpectedly rose! Passing through flames, the Great Buddha joined the life-and-death struggle against the invaders and Tarō. Both were astonished. However, the Great Buddha calmly embraced the invaders, swaying its robes, and walked towards the sea, towards the dawn's light. The sky rang with joyful songs, appearing even more splendid.

Autumnal Kamakura returned to tranquility once more. Crowds of tourists still thronged before the Great Buddha.
