Saijo was hired by Tsuburaya Productions to play Mirrorman, however he broke his hip while doing a submission gag while filming episode 36. He was replaced by Kinichi Kusumi for the rest of the series. After Saijo recovered, he would go on to suit actor for other heroes in Tsuburaya's works.

- Although retired, Mitsuru Saijo was a guest at two events in 2019, one with Eiichi Kikuchi in June,[1] and the other at TSUBURAYA CONVENTION 2019 in an event centering around Tsuburaya's non-Ultraman tokusatsu series.[2]
