After graduating from high school, Hoshi initially joined the theater group Yonaki. In 1972, after an audition, she portrayed the character Yuko Minami in Ultraman Ace. Continuing to act under different names in various TV shows and other productions, she eventually retired from acting after getting married.
In 2004, with the release of Ultraman Ace on DVD, Hoshi reconnected with staff and actors from Tsuburaya Productions. Encouraged by ongoing fan support for Yuko, she now considers her experience portraying Yuko as a cherished part of her acting career. She regularly participates in interviews and events related to the Ultraman series.
