Pre-Ultraman Arc[]
Masumi is the principal of a kindergarten and lives in Hoshimoto City. Sixteen years ago, due to the K-DAY disaster, Masumi lost her son and daughter-in-law. Her grandson, Yuma, survived the disaster, and as his only direct relative, Masumi raised him. Even after Yuma became an adult, she continued to take care of her somewhat clumsy grandson and worried about him.
Ultraman Arc[]
On Yuma's first day as a new investigator for SKIP in Hoshimoto City, Masumi went to his apartment to prepare breakfast for him. That day was April 1st, the 16th anniversary of the K-DAY incident. She was a bit worried about Yuma and asked if he wanted to stay a bit longer. She also gave him a childhood drawing titled "The Ultimate Hero," which had been stored away for a long time, hoping it would lift his spirits and encourage him to work hard.
Later, Masumi went to the kindergarten and read the story of Momotaro to the children during storytime. However, Hoshimoto City faced a massive kaiju disaster when a creature named "Digelos" emerged from a wormhole in the sky, causing severe destruction throughout the city. Masumi, along with the teachers and children at the kindergarten, were trapped in the affected area and could only take shelter in the school building, comforting the frightened children. When she saw the Giant of light appear and successfully defeat Digelos, she smiled with relief. Afterward, she reunited with Yuma, who had rushed to the kindergarten. When Yuma later recalled the events of that day in the form of a dream, the same events panned out, but he was shocked awake when Masumi suddenly retrieved a microphone from nowhere and began reporting on the events of the day as a news reporter. According to Yuma's call records, he continued to stay in touch with her regularly afterward.Arc to the Future
