[1]

  • This episode marks the first appearance of Kasumi Sanjodera.
  • Around the time this episode was made, director Tsugumi Kitaura was chosen to be the director for Ultraman Cosmos 2: The Blue Planet, which led to a tight schedule. As such, Kazuo Sagawa was asked to direct the special effects scenes.[2]
  • In an interview with Taiyo Sugiura and Hidekazu Ichinose in 2021, Ichinose recalled being very late to the shoot for this episode, in what Sugiura called the "Taxi Dash Incident." The college set was far from Ichinose's home, he had to get directions over the phone, and he paid several thousand yen of his own money on a taxi. Knowing that he was a major character in the episode and the shoot was meant to last the whole day, he was very embarassed, saying "I'll do anything!" upon finally arriving. Ichinose claims to have never been late for filming ever since.[3]
