Trivia[]
- This episode explores the theme of the negative impact of space development, focusing on the issue of space debris. It also transposes a severe real-world social problem—landmine clearance—into a space setting, posing the question: "Even in the space age, will humanity continue to recklessly discard waste and dangerous materials in space?"
- Producer Hiroyasu Shibuya commented: "This episode can also be considered part of Musashi and Ayano's love story. The easily infatuated Ayano falls in love once again, but this time, her love interest is an alien seeking revenge against humanity on Earth, making their romance destined for tragedy.[2]
- The young delinquent who argues with Ayano in the episode is played by suit actor Hiroyuki Okano.
- Before the official launch of Ultraman Cosmos 2: The Blue Planet, technical supervisor Shinichi Ooka was in charge of quality control. Beyond overseeing technical aspects, he also provided numerous suggestions regarding the episode's storyline, including the final resolution of the military experiment satellite.
- The core theme of this episode is "Revenge and destruction create nothing." At the time of writing this episode's script, the September 11 attacks had just occurred, and this real-world event deeply influenced the creative team's reflections during the production process.
