Ultraman Wiki

Leyrah (ライラー, Rairā) is a cult and the antagonist faction of Ultraman Trigger: Episode Z. Their main goal is to seize the power of light and use it to reshape the world to their favor.

Etymology[]

Their name is the Ultra-Ancient civilization language word for "light".

History[]

Ultraman Trigger: Episode Z[]

Leyrah was founded by Zabil, a scientist from the era of Ultra-Ancient Civilization who desired the power of light after the deaths of his comrades and Yuzare during Ultraman Trigger's defection from his fellow Giants of Darkness. The group had been manipulating the events of Ultraman Trigger: New Generation Tiga to orchestrate the defeat of the Giants of Darkness while at the same time witnessing Kengo Manaka/Ultraman Trigger's sacrifice by fusing with the Eternity Core. In the intervening two years after that event, they established contact with the fugitive Celebro, who agreed to work for them in exchange of restarting the Civilization Self-Destruction Game.

As Zabil finally slipped into GUTS-Select as their new captain, Ryuichi Tokioka, they manipulated several monster attacks while at the same time performing multiple intrusions into the Ultra Ancient ruins. A captured Ibra relays his message of Kengo's slow death and both GUTS-Select and Leyrah were forced to collaborate in order to split the young man from Eternity Core. While their actions indeed saved Kengo, it was all part of an upcoming greater plan. After freeing Leyrah Ibra, the cult then tries to hunt all the scattered powers of Ultraman Trigger, which they succeeded through the help of Celebro. Once Zabil facilitates his transformation into Evil Trigger, the four cultists that participated in its ceremony sacrificed their lives into light energy to fuel the aforementioned process. Ibra was spared from the process as he ran alongside the fleeing crowds, but is later possessed by Celebro again to summon Destrudos. With most of the cult members killed, Leyrah was now considered defunct.

Powers and Weapons[]

  • Stone-Crafted Weapons: The Leyrah cultists use crafted stone weapons for melee combat. These weapons can either be an axe or a pole-arm for battering purposes.
  • Arm Gauntlet: The cultists wear a left hand gauntlet through which they store glyphs, each cultists are in possession of different-colored ones.

Trivia[]

  • Whereas Zabil is a legitimate civilian from the Ultra-Ancient era, the cultists' claim as descendants of said civilization is currently ambiguous, as they did not prove their credibility in the entire movie.
