Legends and Glory Heisei Ultraseven.
is the first The Final Chapters episode ofSynopsis[]
Several years after the previous battle, the TDF was advancing the "Friendship Plan," aiming to cover planets across the solar system. In the midst of this, the lunar base where Chief Furuhashi was stationed was internally destroyed, and the UG's Ultra Hawk No.3 attacked the city area without being controlled by its crew members. Discussions about the necessity of the UG's existence began to circulate in society. And when Ultraseven visited Earth again, he learned the true purpose of the Friendship Plan!
Plot[]
Several years later, TDF executed the Friendship Plan by placing defense systems which encompasses the solar system. The space craft Friendship 03 boarded by Furuhashi and his crew members arrived on Planet Valkyrie for reconnaissance purpose and return to the Moon base for his retirement day, unaware that a single creature slipped into their vehicle and their base as well.
After maintaining the Pointer patrol car, Kazamori and Satomi went to buy a retirement gift for Furuhashi, but their shopping spree was called off quickly once contact with the Moon base had severed, followed by its destruction. TDF officers mysteriously fought amongst themselves and one of them mysteriously committed suicide after an invisible opponent arrived at his room. Furuhashi forced the surviving officers to get on board in the emergency shuttle while he bravely faced the invader on his own, but said alien turned his gun against him before the entire base exploded. Furuhashi died by the time Dan/Seven arrived at the exploding base.
Despite their best efforts, none of the Moon base officers survived their escape as their shuttle crash landed and to the Ultra Guard’s horror, they had been fighting amongst themselves on board; hinting the possibility of a traitor in their ranks. Unknown to them, the same alien that was ravaging through the Moon base snuck into the escape shuttle as well and moved to possess a maintenance worker in TDF’s Far East Base. With no evidence of outside force being responsible for the attack, the Ultra Guard argued among themselves the possibility of a traitor in the TDF, especially since Furuhashi the only one to speak against the Friendship Plan. Ultra Hawk 3 was quickly hijacked by a maintenance worker who supported Furuhashi, attacking a nearby city until the aircraft crashed after a dogfight with the Ultra Hawk 1. The incident caused Staff Officer Kaji to take direct control of the Ultra Guard to prevent another case of treachery against the TDF chain of command. Unlike Furuhashi, Kaji was more than against the Ultra Guard’s activities since he was one of the supporters of the Friendship Plan. With the late Furuhashi’s name being stained as the “instigator of a coup”, Kazamori swore to clear the former’s name. Aside from the Ultra Guard’s reputation being tarnished, Shima revealed that the Friendship Plan’s true nature is a war crime designated to attack other planets with intelligent beings outside of the solar system. With Satomi, Shima speculated that all of these incidents were a plot to remove oppositions of the Friendship Plan concocted by Kaji and his warmongering staffs. According to Captain Shiragane, Kaji had changed after an incident from the past where he had lost someone dearest to him and Furuhashi refused to allow a counterattack against the retreating alien force.
Against Kaji’s orders Ultra Guard members barring Rumi and Shiragane investigated the Ultra Hawk 3’s crash site, but unfortunately a group of citizens attack them enough for the tabloids to catch their photo and further framing the team in the eyes of the public. Dan was present to catch the mastermind, Alien Valkyrie, in a human’s body but was shocked to discover that his action was simply an act of self-defense when mankind’s Friendship Plan could threaten their planet.
The Ultra Guard was infinitely suspended from further activities, but the members kept their Video Ceivers. Captain Shiragane investigated the matter again by approaching the possessed man, Shinichi Inamari, where Dan knocked him out. He returned to UG’s office to discover Alien Valkyrie being the perpetrator of the incidents that discredited both Furuhashi and UG. Valkyrie possessed Shiragane to lure the rest of the UG in a same point, forcing the rest of the team members to be paranoid over who will be the next victim of Valkyrie’s possession. Kazamori was the last person to be possessed as Dan arrived and knocked out all of the UG members.
Kazamori allowed himself to be fired upon to ensure that Valkyrie has no body left to possess; true to form, even Seven’s physical body rejected Valkyrie, causing the alien to materialized as a grotesque monster that reflected his own heart. Dan transformed into Seven to fight Valkyrie, killing the alien after foiling his illusions and trickery. Despite Kazamori seemingly lost consciousness after being shot, he returned to the rest of his team members unharmed. With proof of the Alien Valkyrie’s existence, UG’s reputation was finally vindicated and allowed to resume their work. Unfortunately Kaji repaid Valkyrie’s invasion on Earth by destroying their home planet; further validating the alien’s claim of mankind's ruthlessness.
A memorial plaque was erected on the Moon base where Dan visited after his faith in mankind begins to diminish, but swears on continuing to protect them for as long as Furuhashi’s descendant remains. The episode ended with Dan revealing to have taken Kazamori’s form to hide the young man’s fate from his comrades.
