[1]

  • This marked the Ultraman Series' return to Kyushu for location shooting since Ultraman Taro.
    • The amusement park filming location for this episode is Greenland Resort, located in Arao City, Kumamoto Prefecture (formerly known as Mitsui Greenland). This site is also home to Ultraman Land.
    • Additionally, the ruins featuring the "other giant" and Guardie statue were filmed at the Tonkararin Tunnel Structure in Tamana District, Kumamoto Prefecture.
  • Due to the need to travel to Kyushu for the shoot, extensive preparations were made, and the filming process took nearly a month. Coordination for the Kyushu shoot began as early as the New Year of 1997.[2]
    • Initially, the storyline for Inheritance of Shadows was conceived as a standalone episode, with the script submitted early on. However, given that the Kyushu filming was to be divided into two parts, the shooting schedule became somewhat rushed.
  • Originally, the setting for the Tiga's Pyramid story was planned to be in the Tohoku region. Chiaki J. Konaka, along with director Hirochika Muraishi, producers Masato Oida and Nobuyuki Koyama, brought the initial two-episode drafts to Kyushu to begin conceptualizing the script. They also made a point of learning about the filming locations. After familiarizing themselves with the local environment, they made several adjustments and rewrote parts of the script.
  • In this episode, the crowd scenes at the amusement park were played by staff members from Ultraman Land. According to Konaka, after seeing the efforts of the local employees at Ultraman Land, he wanted them to be involved in the production. As a result, he requested that scenes featuring the amusement park staff and a couple be included in the storyline.
