Kyoko Kodaka (小高 京子, Kodaka Kyōko) is one of the minor characters from The☆Ultraman.

History[]

The☆Ultraman[]

Kyoko is a civilian girl who has been living in a hospital for an extended period due to a childhood accident that left her unable to move freely. She has spent most of her life confined to the hospital.

Recently, mysterious glowing objects have been frequently sighted on Earth, with all the witnesses being young women between the ages of 17 and 18. In reality, this light is Amia, who has developed feelings for Choichiro Hikari, the human form of Ultraman Joneus, after their union. Wishing to travel to Earth, Amia sought permission from the Great Sage. However, she was warned that Earth's threats might include remnants of the Bader Group, ancient enemies of the Ultras. As a result, her request was denied.

Despite the warning, Amia takes matters into her own hands. She steals the "Star Symbol," a sacred artifact that can only be used by chosen individuals, and disregards the Great Sage’s warning, traveling to Earth on her own.

Upon arriving on Earth, Amia finds Kyoko, who bears an uncanny resemblance to herself. Seeing this as an opportunity, Amia merges with Kyoko. When the Science Guard Party comes to question Kyoko about the mysterious light sightings, Amia uses Kyoko’s body in hopes that Hikari will remember her. However, Hikari cannot recall any memories of her. Still, when Hikari and Kyoko meet face-to-face, he feels a deep sense of familiarity, as if he has seen her somewhere before.

Not long after their initial encounter, Kyoko approaches Hikari again. She tells him that ever since meeting him, she has regained the ability to stand and walk—something she hadn't been able to do due to her long-term immobility. Despite Hikari being unable to recall anything about Planet U40, he still feels an unexplainable familiarity toward Kyoko. Kyoko invites Hikari to join her for a walk through the beautiful natural surroundings, and he agrees.

As they are enjoying their time together, Garbados suddenly appears and launches a fierce fire attack. Kyoko is severely injured and rushed to the hospital in critical condition, with wounds so severe that medical treatment seems futile. At this crucial moment, Ultraman Joneus speaks to Hikari, instructing him to channel energy into Kyoko’s spirit while holding her hand. Joneus also restores Hikari’s previously erased memories of U40, allowing him to finally remember Amia, and the other Ultra Warriors of U40. With Joneus’ energy, Kyoko’s condition gradually improves, and her wounds begin to heal.

As the threat of Garbados looms, the Science Guard Party mobilizes to confront the monster. Hikari, too, transforms into Joneus and joins the battle. However, because Joneus had shared some of his energy with Kyoko and Amia, his power is diminished, and he struggles to fight effectively. Meanwhile, Kyoko, having just regained consciousness, senses that Hikari is in danger. In a moment of realization, she successfully transforms into Amia and rushes to the battlefield to face Garbados. Together, the sibling pair combines their strength to defeat Garbados.

Following the battle, Amia returns to U40, and due to their brief fusion, Kyoko's injuries are fully healed. When the Science Guard Party visits her in the hospital, Kyoko retains faint memories of her time merged with Amia. Hikari reflects on the event, remarking, “Perhaps an angel descended to save Kyoko.”

Transformation[]

Beam Flasher: This device allows Kyoko to transform into Amia. She first charges the Beam Flasher with energy and places it on her forehead. Then, a bright light will cover her and transform her into her Ultra form.
