Kunio Miyauchi
was a Japanese composer. He made a great contribution to the image creation of the Ultraman series in music.Biography[]
Miyauchi entered the National Music College as an adult. After graduating, he worked in commercial radio at Nippon Broadcasting Corporation, and worked as a freelance music producer for movies and TV shows. Since the late 1950s, he had worked at the Theater de Poche.
On the recommendation of his friend Satsuki Tsuburaya who works at Fuji Television, Miyauchi was selected by Tsuburaya Productions to be responsible for the music of the company's first TV special effects drama WOO, but the project did not materialize in the end. Then in 1966, he was in charge of the music production of Ultra Q and Ultraman.
Death[]
At 4:13 pm on November 27, 2006, Miyauchi died of colon cancer in a hospital in Fuchu, Tokyo. He lived to be 74 years old.
