Because this Kaiju is a character in the show instead of the monster-of-the-week, it has been given its own article. If you're looking for the main page, see Kanegon. |
This Kanegon is a Reionics who was chosen to wield the monster Red King. However instead of participating in the Reionics Battle, his lack of actual prowess in controlling Red King convinced Kanegon to sell the Battlenizer and runs into Ai Asama when a quartet of aliens are after his device, setting forth the motion of Mega Monster Battle: Ultra Adventure NEO.
History[]
Mega Monster Battle: Ultra Adventure[]
Chosen to wield Red King as his monster, Kanegon however has issues with controlling it. Kanegon initially cameoed in the previous series when Io Mikura and Pigmon were on Planet Aval at the height of Bullton's invasion, having brought there through its Fourth Dimension powers. After being fed with a portion of money via debit card transaction (from Io's mother no less), Kanegon joins their battle against Ghighi and gets sucked into the portal due to Bullton's destruction. Awakening at a strange planetoid, he gets pursued by Alien Temperor, Alien Babarue, Alien Magma and Kyrieloid, all of whom wanted to buy the Battlenizer from him.
Mega Monster Battle: Ultra Adventure NEO[]
Kanegon gets chased by the quartet and initially try to fight them in giant size, only for them to grow giants as well. A stray portal conjured by Alien Reiblood throws them into the world where Ai Asama lived. He met Ai after eating the young boy's spare change by mistake and discover that the boy can manipulate his Red King to fight. From encounter with various aliens on Earth, being rescued by Ultraman Tiga and ended up in GUTS's Dive Hangar, Kanegon and Ai were kidnapped to space by Alien Guts to study their Battlenizer. While being threatened by Yapool, Kanegon discover a blue sphere in his Battlenizer defended them, simply accepting it as their "ally". They went stranded on an alien planet where they met Vittorio and a stray Agira, promising to help the latter in finding Ultraseven. Kanegon was separated from Ai while trying to ride Gameron, but this allowed the young boy to awaken his potential as a Reionics. However when the blue sphere attacked Tiga just after Gatanothor's defeat, the three boarded Vittorio's ship to get to the wormhole.
Joining Vittorio in tracking the blue sphere remnants, this incident also brought them into the past where the events of Ultra Galaxy Mega Monster Battle: Never Ending Odyssey took place on Planet Hammer, causing several run-ins with other Reionics. Ai's continuous fights with monsters caused Kanegon's Battlenizer to evolve and almost nearly fell into the same bloodlust as Reimon's Reionics Burst, pitting against Vittorio (who was also under the same influence) and ended up with the latter's Battlenizer damaged. Kanegon would soon discover the conspiracy of Reiblood's plan to use his Battlenizer as a contingency plan and Ai's help only escalating the plan further to resurrect Kate's Zetton into an EX Zetton for the alien spirit to use as his new body. In the final fight, Kanegon and Ai jointly held the Neo Battlenizer to focus their energy for Red King to reinitiate Volganic Impact, therefore putting an end to Reiblood's EX Zetton.
With the fight against Reiblood ended, Kanegon forfeited his plan in selling his Battlenizer, seeing how it evolved in Ai's possession and bids farewell to the young boy.
Profile[]
- Powers and Weapons
- Battlenizer: Kanegon possesses a black and white colored Battlenizer, but his lack of actual controlling prowess prompted him to auction the device. Kanegon lends this device to Ai, as the boy is a better controller.
- Connection to Battlenizer: Because the Battlenizer is Kanegon's from the start, his presence is still needed to maintain the Battlenizer's power. Hence if he were to be away from Ai, the young boy is incapable of summoning Red King. This was no longer the case after it evolved into Neo Battlenizer, as Ai's awakening as a Reionics allows him to summon monsters without Kanegon's help.
- Special Coin : A coin which enlarges Kanegon once consuming it, but doing so would cause Kanegon to become hungrier after the battle.
- Monsters in possession
- Red King: Kanegon's default monster. When he relinquished his device to Ai, Red King follows suit.
- Agira: Seven's Capsule Monster, Agira became a temporary ally and summoned monster to Kanegon and Ai at times.
- Kate's Zetton (Unofficially): Reiblood sets up Kanegon's Battlenizer as his contingency plan to incubate the cell of Kate's Zetton. Ai's continuous use of the device and grows in strength allows Zetton to escape and evolve into EX Zetton.
Other Media[]
Mega Monster Battle: ULTRA MONSTERS[]
Kanegon's plot of encountering with the player (representing Io and Pigmon) remains unchanged, save for his summoned monster and the fact that he ate an amount of Io's money from the debit card. Instead of his own monster, Kanegon grew giant to support the protagonist against Bullton's monsters. Mega Monster Battle: ULTRA MONSTERS
Mega Monster Battle: ULTRA MONSTERS NEO[]
Kanegon's story in the Ultra Adventure NEO is adapted into simpler version in the game's story mode. Here, because players are in charge over which monster they get to choose, the status of Red King as his monster is omitted. For a brief moment, Kanegon was brainwashed by Nova's Red Crazy Gas into fighting against the protagonist until he came back to his senses. Additionally, Kanegon, Vittorio and the player never encountered Io Mikura or his Pigmon ally. When the fight against Reiblood/EX Zetton ended, Reimon sends the three Reionics home with his powers.[1][2] Mega Monster Battle: ULTRA MONSTERS NEO

Trivia[]
- Kanegon speaks in a laidback manner, this is a result of being too hungry to stay active.
- In the manga, Kanegon's aim for bidding his Battlenizer sets to 10 million yen, owing to his wish in living up to 30 human years and needing enough money to sustain until that period of time. When Alien Guts wished to rent the device for research, Kanegon permits them at the price of 10,000 yen per day, which they reluctantly agreed.
- When absorbing portions of cash from Io's debit card, Kanegon received over 3,000 yen, to which he claims only allow him to last for an entire day. To Io's dismay, that very amount deducted from what is supposed to be his allowance to buy a new game console.
- Alien Temperor in the game legitimately wanted to pay for the Battlenizer, but was unable to meet Kanegon's expectation as his bidding price is 1 million yen.
- In ULTRA MONSTERS NEO, he misnamed Alien Temperor as "Tempura" and Yapool as "Alien Yapool".
