Junichi Kitai is a student of Sakuragaoka Middle School in Ultraman 80.
His nickname is Rakugo , due to his tendency to speak in the same way as a rakugo performer.

Rakugoi has an outgoing and humorous personality, and he excels in engaging with his classmates through the art of "Rakugo" storytelling.
However, occasionally he engages in deliberate pranks and mischievous behavior, playfully teasing his classmates. Additionally, he is not particularly skilled in the field of science among his peers.

Ultraman 80[]
When Rakugo first appeared, he and the other students were first-year students in Class 1-E, receiving instruction from their new teacher, Takeshi. However, because Takeshi often displayed careless, innocent, and eccentric behavior, the students were skeptical of him.Ultraman Teacher
In addition, a classmate of Rakugo's, Tsukamoto, refused to attend school because his friend had been accepted to a private high school. Takeshi promised to bring him back to school. Rakugo and others suggested using Takeshi's position as a bet. If Takeshi was late or failed to keep his promise again, he would have to leave the school.
Later, when Tsukamoto mustered the courage to return to school, he protected Takeshi, who had protected him before, by stopping other students from entering the classroom. After Ultraman 80 left Earth for 26 years, Minus Energy resurfaced, putting Earth in danger once again. Rakugo, who is now an adult and a works at a credit bank. has always had feelings of nostalgia and gratitude towards his youth and experiences interacting with Takeshi.
When he learned that Sakuragaoka Middle School would also merge with other schools and be closed due to a decline in the birthrate, and the school building would soon be demolished, When he reunites with Tsukamoto and Susumu, the three of them decide to have a class reunion before the school closes.
When Ultraman 80 successfully defeated Hoe in battle and attempted to leave Earth, Rakugo and other students tried their best to shout out their current situations to 80 and created a banner together that said "Thank you for the memories, Teacher Takeshi" to express their gratitude towards him.
