Ikuru is the main character of the 2001 planetarium movie Ultraman Tiga 〜To the Children of Light〜.

History

Ultraman Tiga 〜To the Children of Light〜

Ikuru is a office worker that lives in the 2019, the year where humans made their first step on Mars. One day while resting after work, he found an Ultraman Tiga doll and remembers how he was as a child used to watch the series on television.

It was then where a mysterious voice called him where he is transformed into his child self and found himself on the terraformed Mars in the future. A mysterious girl named Ruri appeared and told him that in the future (2300), humanity turned Jupiter into a giant space dumpster that resulted with the birth of space garbage monsters Debris Taurus and Debris Faldo. Unlike Ikuru's world (and time), Tiga existed in this world but he loses his light after the stresses from the battle. Ikuru donated his light, allowing Tiga to be revived once more and face the monsters.

Trivia

• In a similar manner to Tsutomu Niiboshi, Ikuru is a real-life human who met Ultras, the latter supposedly being fictional characters to his world. The person whose responsible for their encounter with their respective Ultras is a young girl, similarly portrayed by Mai Saito.
