Iguanodon (イグアノドン Iguanodon) is a well known genus of ornithopod dinosaur that lived during Early Cretaceous period.

A Iguanodon was one of the many poacher targets in Dinosaur Expedition Born Free.

Dinosaur Expedition Born Free

Caught in a pit trap, the Iguanodon caught the attention of the Born Free group AND a hungry Allosaur. Working against time itself, Born Free tossed a lasso over the spike thumbed lizard and tried to fly him out of the ground before the hungry therapod descended down on the defenseless reptile.


Trivia not relevant for the series=
  • Iguanodon means "Iguana-tooth" in Greek.
  • Despite being a herbivore, the Iguanodon in Born Free has sharp teeth.
  • In real life, Iguanodon was a bipedal/quadrupedal herbivore. It could stand on its hindlimbs, and yet normally walk on all fours. If attacked, it could dissuade a predator with its powerful thumb spike.

  • Spiked Thumbs: Like all Iguanodons, the ones featured in Born Free had each of the Iguanodon's hands are two very sharp spikes use for defense.
