Hiroshi Nekomata is a Japanese actor, suit actor, stuntman and action choreographer. He was one of Ultraman Cosmos's suit actors in his titular series and first film. His real name is Hiroshi Kashiwazaki .[1]
Career[]
Nekomata entered the Japanese entertainment industry in 1984.
Nekomata played Ultraman Cosmos in the first Cosmos film and from the first episode of the series, but later tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee during filming and had to withdraw from the show,[2][3][4] last being credited in episode 23. Nekomata was invited back to portray Cosmos's final scenes in the last episode, which he could do as they involved no action.[2][3][4] Fittingly, these scenes parallel Cosmos's first meeting with Musashi in The First Contact, when Nekomata had first played Cosmos.
Nekomata is also the representative of and an instructor for Hayate, a club for learning action and stunts.[5]
