Hiroshi Murakami is a character in Mirrorman. He is the field leader of SGM (Science Guard Members), serving as second in command after Dr. Mitarai. Before joining SGM, he was a police detective, and so is the only SGM member with weapons training.
Personality[]
Known to his coworkers as "Chief," Murakami often acts lighthearted. However, he is a man of internal conflict and seriousness. He values SGM as an institution that is scientific in nature rather than military, and resists efforts to militarize it.

Before joining SGM, Murakami was a police detective. While investigating an Invader plot, his gun was used to kill his partner. He was dishonorable discharged, but believing in his innocence, Dr. Mitarai asked him to join SGM. Because he is the only SGM member with weapons training, Mitarai armed him with the Sol-Gun, but because of his traumatic experience in the police force, Mitarai initially refused to use it. Shoot the Flame Monster, Zailas! While he became willing to use force in true necessity, he refused to carry a gun if he did not know it would be needed.
