Hiroshi Isana (勇魚イサナヒロシ, Isana Hiroshi) is a character in Ultraman Mebius. He is the captain of GUYS OCEAN.

Personality[]

Hiroshi appears to have a very easy-going and relaxed personality. When interacting with members of GUYS, he behaves casually and unrestrained, but in reality, he possesses highly advanced manipulation skills and acute insight, allowing him to plan tasks accurately and demonstrate exceptional strategic planning and leadership abilities. Therefore, when he first appeared, he was able to easily discover Ultraman Mebius' true identity from the injury sustained by Mirai during the battle.

Since he belongs to the GUYS OCEAN, his uniform design differs from that of the GUYS JAPAN.

History[]

Pre-Ultraman Mebius[]

Hiroshi as a member of the maintenance team.

In the past, Hiroshi worked as an apprentice repairman at GUYS JAPAN, where he caught the eye of GUYS' maintenance chief, Araiso, who saw his potential for future development.

Once, Hiroshi secretly took the GUYS Ocean entrance exam without telling Araiso, which led to a period of estrangement between them. However, Hiroshi still had a great deal of trust in Araiso and applied his experience as an apprentice repairman to his role as the captain of GUYS OCEAN during various missions.

Nevertheless, according to Araiso, Hiroshi still had some slight misunderstandings about some aircraft.

Ultraman Mebius[]

When GUYS was on a mission to fight against Arigera in the Pacific, Hiroshi came to support from the sea by piloting Sea Winger. Later, he went to the GUYS JAPAN base to assist in the joint operation of the two teams. To avoid putting pressure on GUYS members, he hid his identity as the GUYS Ocean team leader and interacted with the members in a relaxed and friendly manner. According to his conversation with Captain Sakomizu, they have been good friends for a long time.

After learning that Arigera had begun using sound waves to try and summon Mebius, Hiroshi shared his thoughts during a conversation with the GUYS team. He agreed that the creature's pulses might be a way of calling Mebius, and pointed out that Arigera's pattern of returning after reaching the coast indicated a desire to fight Mebius. To prevent the potential large-scale crustal movements and disastrous consequences that could result from the two battling in the deep sea, he proposed a plan to lure Arigera to a man-made island on the Boso Peninsula for the fight, and asked Teppei to come up with relevant strategies.

The other party proposed a method to lure Arigera to the coast and defeat it without causing massive crustal movement or catastrophic consequences, based on the knowledge that Arigera perceives the world through ultrasound and uses a sonar box to emit strong ultrasound waves. They suggested rendering the sonar box of the Sea Winger to create an illusion of Mebius, luring Arigera to pursue and attack the Sea Winger to the land, where they could then defeat it to accomplish their mission.

When he saw the scene where the GUYS members were planning their mission together, he remembered his memories of being a repairman and working with his colleagues in the past. He took the initiative to give advice to the team, suggesting to hover at low altitude and ascend vertically when Arigera approached, and to attack the wings of Arigera from the front. He hoped that GUYS could seize the precious opportunity.

Later, during the operation to counter Arigera, they successfully led Arigera to the artificial island and assisted Mebius in attacking Arigera after its appearance.

Despite GUYS' urgent desire to keep Hiroshi from knowing that Mirai is the true identity of Ultraman Mebius, Hiroshi already knew the truth about Mebius' identity from the beginning of the battle, as well as private conversations among GUYS members. Before leaving the base, he publicly revealed his identity as the captain to the members. On his way back, he and Araiso resolved their inner conflicts through communication.

Finally, Hiroshi kept the secret of Mebius in his heart and used a handwritten letter to inform GUYS: "I can hear your voices, be careful with your conversations in the cockpit."Isana of the Ocean
