Great Counterattack! Anti Go-Ne (大逆襲!アンチゴーネ, Daigyakushū! Anchigōne) is the second episode of Jumborg Ace.

Synopsis[]

Blaming PAT for his brother’s death, Naoki confronts the team, harboring resentment. Meanwhile, a monster appears in Tokyo. Determined to avenge his brother, Naoki takes off in his Jumborg-linked Cessna, evading PAT’s orders to take down the creature.

However, his reckless pursuit is interrupted when he is tasked with delivering a critical serum to Izu, but his impatience leads to further complications.

Plot[]

While the Anti Go-Ne creates Rubangar King, PAT attends the opening of Mrs. Tachibana's shop. Naoki, blaming them for his brother's death, starts a fight with Kumai. They are broken up. Naoki's watch shines, and he rushes off to confront the kaiju. But when he gets to his plane, his boss arrives with a box of blood that a child in rural hospital needs and tells him to deliver it. Naoki protests, but is overruled.

PAT deploys and engages Rubangar King. Naoki decides that he can beat the kaiju easily in time to deliver the blood, and so transforms into Jumborg Ace and attacks. But the kaiju is stronger than expected and blinds him in the fight. While Jumborg Ace is unable to respond, PAT wounds the monster and it retreats.

Naoki, blinded, is unable to pilot his way to the hospital. His boss contacts PAT and Kumai is sent to find him. Kumai protests, but is told not to let personal grudges get in the way of saving a child's life, and so he deploys.

When Kumai finds Naoki's plane, Naoki tells him he doesn't want his help. His Cessna starts to spin out of control towards the ocean.

Meanwhile, Rubangar King attacks again. PAT responds, but is unable to defeat the kaiju.

As his plane hurtles towards the sea, Naoki remembers his brother telling him not to be a coward. The sun strikes his eyes. They open and he is able to avoid crashing. Kumai tells him that he did well, and that they can continue their fight later. Naoki agrees. He delivers the blood to the hospital and then transforms into Jumborg Ace and reengages Rubangar King, this time managing to destroy it, while Antigone warns him the Gross Aliens will never stop attacking.

Naoki mourns his brother, but remembers his fight with Kumai. The two of them engage in a friendly manner and promise to continue sparring.
