History[]
Ultraman Blazar The Movie: Tokyo Kaiju Showdown[]
After the SKaRD and Dr. Mabuse fail to stop the "Alien Damuno" from launching missile strikes against the Necromass Co. research facility, chaos ensues when potent amounts of damudoxin leak from the destroyed tanks, consuming samples of kaiju carcasses and giving birth to the fearsome Gongilgan. The undead kaiju marches towards the Necromass Co. headquarters with what appears to be an instinctual desire to get to the anti-damudoxin, the only thing which can stop it, before the SKaRD can claim it for themselves. However, in a surprising turn of events, Yuuki Mabuse, the son of Dr. Mabuse and the true identity of "Alien Damuno", offers himself up to Gongilgan, who assimilates with the boy and evolves into its Second Form. Having obtained a "soul", the kaiju heads towards the National Diet Building to fulfill Yuuki's desire of exterminating all adults, who are what he, and now Gongilgan, perceive to be the root of society's problems.
As Gongilgan wreaks havoc in Tokyo's political district, the SKaRD hatch a plan to retrieve Yuuki from the kaiju using the newly-developed AD (anti-damudoxin) equipment. Gongilgan attempts to cut the operation short but is met with resistance from Earth Garon Mod. 4, who delivers a fierce battle until it manages to hold Gongilgan in place for Gento to save Yuuki. Left without a "soul", Gongilgan lost its mind and went on a rampage, causing collateral damage and putting Earth Garon in its place. Seeing this, Gento transformed into Ultraman Blazar and entered the fray, calling on Firdran to even out the odds. Charging up their ultimate attacks, the two giants met in a point blank explosion that sent Blazar flying near the National Diet Building, with Gongilgan almost overpowering the Ultra if not for Earth Garon's timely arrival.
Together, Blazar and Earth Garon attempted to tear Gongilgan's antennae apart to expose its weakness, but the kaiju fended them off and landed an almost-fatal blow on Blazar. Earth Garon stepped in and faced Gongilgan in an exchange of beams, providing Blazar the opportunity to slice off one of its antennae with the Spiral Burrade. The mecha followed suit and ripped Gongilgan's remaining antenna apart, with Emi landing a decisive shot in its exposed orifice. Though weakened, Gongilgan mustered all its strength in a last-ditch attempt to end them all, but Blazar and Earth Garon matched its tenacity with their most powerful beams and ultimately defeated Gongilgan in a glorious explosion. Ultraman Blazar The Movie Special Voice Drama: Tokyo Kaiju Extermination Operation[]
Even after its defeat, the power of the potent damudoxin meant that Gongilgan's remains continued to terrorize Tokyo as smaller Gongilgans, dubbed the Third Form. The GGF dispatched its ground forces to wipe out the waves of smaller Gongilgans scattered around the surrounding districts, with the SKaRD encountering some that eerily resembled kaiju that they have fought in the past. After a long fight, the Gongilgans are presumably defeated, but a second, bigger wave begins to show up on their radar, which came together to form a 70 meter-class Gongilgan that emerged from beneath Gento's feet and sent him flying into the air before he transformed into Ultraman Blazar to finish the job.
Data[]
First Form
is Gongilgan's original appearance, an amalgamation of kaiju genetic material driven wild by the damudoxin.- Stats
- Height: 54 m
- Weight: 54,000 t
- Origin: Kamikura Research Facility, Necromass Co.
- Weakness: The anti-damudoxin was developed by Necromass Co. to counter the damudoxin if it ever went out of control. This was fashioned into the AD (anti-damudoxin) ammunition and armor used against Gongilgan.
- Powers and Weapons
- Energy Beam: Gongilgan fires a destructive beam from its mouth.
- Antennae: Gongilgan can deploy antennae from its "ears" to grab hold of targets.
- Empowerment: After its assimilation with Yuuki, Gongilgan was able to synchronize with the human's most latent destructive emotions, causing it to evolve into its Second Form.
Second Form [7]
is Gongilgan's evolved state that stemmed from its desire to obtain a "soul".- Stats
- Height: 59 m
- Weight: 59,000 t
- Origin: Necromass Co. headquarters
- Weaknesses:
- The anti-damudoxin was developed by Necromass Co. to counter the damudoxin if it ever went out of control. This was fashioned into the AD (anti-damudoxin) ammunition and armor used against Gongilgan.
- Tearing off Gongilgan's antennae exposes the core of its brain, allowing for a more effective deployment of the AD ammunition.
- Powers and Weapons
- Energy Beam: Gongilgan fires a destructive beam from its mouth.
- Energy Sphere: Gongilgan charges a powerful energy sphere from the "gaping jaw" on its chest, and can use it point blank or unleash the stored energy in a flurry of bullets.
- Body Lightning: Gongilgan unleashes lightning energy bolts from throughout its body.
- Lightning Shock: Gongilgan channels energy into its antennae to electrocute enemies.
- Organic Weaponry: Scattered across Gongilgan's body are organic parts which can be attached to its arms to turn them into melee weapons. By channeling energy into these armaments, Gongilgan can strengthen its melee attacks.
- Arm Blades
- Arm Sickles
- Arm Claws
- Regeneration: Gongilgan can regrow body parts in seconds due to the damudoxin's regenerative properties.
- Flight: Gongilgan propels itself into the sky by releasing energy waves from the protrusions on its back.
Third Form
refers to the horde of smaller Gongilgans that gained life from its remains and appeared around the surrounding districts after its defeat. Physically, they resembled numerous kaiju from past battles, like Bazanga and Taganular, but with Gongilgan's face and/or features.- Stats
- Height: Human-sized
- Weight: Unknown
- Origin: Various locations across Tokyo
- Weakness: The anti-damudoxin was developed by Necromass Co. to counter the damudoxin if it ever went out of control. This was fashioned into the AD (anti-damudoxin) ammunition and armor which was especially effective against the smaller-sized horde.
Fourth Form
is the combined form of all its smaller Third Form components that emerged to fight Ultraman Blazar. It is jokingly referred to by the SKaRD as Gongilgan Pescatore after the Italian pasta dish due to being a chimeric amalgamation of seafood-like kaiju: Bazanga, resembling a lobster; Taganular, resembling a squid; Leviera, resembling shellfish, and Irugo, resembling strands of pasta.
- Stats
- Height: 70 m
- Weight: Unknown
- Origin: Kasumigaseki Station, Tokyo
- Weakness: Presumably the same as its previous forms.
