Trivia[]
- In the preparation draft of this episode, there was a plan to attach a monster catcher to the tail of Fire Golza, but under GUTS' attack, the tail was severed. The severed tail moved underground in a different direction, while GUTS continued to pursue on the ground, unaware of this. At this moment, Fire Golza's main body took the opportunity to attack Daigo, catching him off guard.[1]
- The director of this episode, Dan Fuyuki, initially opposed addressing the relationship between Golza and the Ultra-Ancient civilization after a long interval, expressing a reluctance to create a story that couldn't be understood without watching the previous episode. However, after the completion of this episode, there was no specific mention of continuity with the episode 1, "Inheritance of Light".[1]
- This episode has two early conceptual versions. In a story called "Awakening from Deep Memory Sparklence falls into a cracked crevice, Golza heads to destroy the city, leaving Daigo unable to transform. However, a "future man" arrives to offer help. According to Masakazu Migita's mention, although not explicitly explained, this future man is actually Daigo's descendant. He wears what appears to be a dirty spacesuit and, after finding Sparklence and entrusting it to Daigo, enables Tiga to successfully defeat Golza. However, due to certain aspects of the setup being difficult to understand, this version of the story was eventually abandoned.[1] ", it portrays Daigo encountering Golza underground. However, when
- Another alternative, titled "The Deep Memory Nook, who appears in Episode 45, "Eternal Life".[2] ", has been completed up to the first draft. In this story, a character corresponding to the future person appears: a scientist from the Ultra-Ancient civilization. He once created Golza as a biological weapon, but due to Golza's loss of control, as an atonement for this mistake, he appears in the modern era. Using a mercury-like liquid, he makes Golza disappear forever and then disappears himself after assisting Ultraman Tiga. Migita explains that this Ultra-Ancient individual is the prototype of
- The events of this episode became an important background theme for Episode 43 of Ultraman Dyna, titled "Captain Long-Legs".
