Gijeran Ultraman Decker.[1]
is a giant ancient plant that appears inSubtitle: Ultra-Ancient Plant [1]
Conception[]
Etymology[]
The name Gijeran comes from Juran and Gijera , two giant plant kaiju from the Ultraman Series. Likewise, Gijeran pays homages to both of its namesakes (see Trivia).
History[]
Pre-Ultraman Decker[]
Gijeran is an ancient plant which is said to be used as a form of medicine by the Ultra-Ancient civilization. 30 million years passed and the plant had gone extinct but somehow, Kengo Manaka managed to acquire a single specimen of this plant, which he named R'lyeh , which he cared for on Mars in hopes of making people smile when it bloomed.
When Carmeara managed to reach the Eternity Core and used its power to transform into Megalothor, a fossilized Gijeran seed happened to latch onto the monster, and was destroyed along with it.[1] At some point, Mitsukuni Shizuma managed to find an ancient stone tablet containing information on Gijeran and studied it to learn of its past.
Ultraman Decker[]
A decade later, the lingering power of darkness used the presence of the invading Spheres to resurrect Megalothor, and the Gijeran seed was reborn along with it. It sprouted into a flower at a park where it unleashed its hallucinogenic pollen, making the people present there fall asleep having dreams of their ideal situations. This troubled Kengo Manaka, as the plant not only highly resembled his treasured R'lyeh, but it was also making people smile like he wanted to. Kanata Asumi was also affected by the pollen, and dreamed of his fellow GUTS-Select members coming to his rice cracker shop, before realizing that something was wrong. He woke up when the pollen's effects wore off later in the day as he had only been affected by a small amount of pollen.
The other affected people were then reawakened as drones to protect the Gijeran from any outside harm, preventing any form of intervention against the plant, which rapidly grew to gigantic size. However, the effects of its pollen were wearing off towards the night. Yuna Shizuma then came in and shared the information on Gijeran that Mitsukuni had discovered, and installed a special herbicide onto the Nursedessei. After evacuating the people, GUTS-Select put their plan into action, managing to kill Gijeran with the herbicide. Before they could blast it away, Sphere-Megalothor interrupted by emerging from the ground. Light and Darkness, Again
The remains of Gijeran were presumably disposed off later on after Megalothor's defeat.
Trivia[]
- Like its namesake, Gijeran is based on Gijera as Ultra-Ancient Plants that induce hallucinations and its revival into the modern day marks the revival of their respective Evil Gods (Gatanothor and Megalothor). In addition like Juran, the plant grew giant by sprouting from a building and destroying it requires a special herbicide.
- Despite the plant originally appearing at a park, it mysteriously gets into the building where it sprouts from with no proper explanation.
Data[]
- Stats[1]
- Height: 53 m
- Weight: 42,000 t
- Origin: Eternity Core's chamber
- Weaknesses: Other than the special herbicide designed to kill it, Gijeran can only spread its pollen during the daylight, hence at night, it remains vulnerable to attacks unless it is defended by the victims it infected.
- Powers and Weapons
- Hallucinogenic Pollen: The Gijeran's main purpose is to emit pollen that renders its target into a state of hallucination that represents their desires.[1] The pollen can also act as mind controls to manipulate the target into Gijeran's human shields at night.
- Rapid Growth: The Gijeran can grow rapidly from a small potted-plant size to 53 meters overnight due to the Sphere's powers.
