The Giant , known as Yak Wat Jaeng in Thailand, is a character created by Chaiyo Productions. He first starred in Tah Tien by Chaiyo Productions and later in Tsuburaya and Chaiyo's co-production film, Jumborg Ace & Giant, where he appeared alongside Jumborg Ace. Yak Wat Jaeng takes the form of a traditional Thai demon.

History

Tah Tien

Yak Wat Jaeng battled Yak Wat Pho near the Chao Phraya River and caused massive chaos in that area.

Jumborg Ace & Giant

Thai scientists developed the Yak Way Jeang robot alongside the Yak Wat Pho robot to defend Earth against alien invasion. After the solar crystal from Wat Arun was stolen by Jum Killer Jr. and the evil robot itself began wreaking havoc in the middle of Bangkok, Yak Wat Pho, who was completed first, was sent to stop the invader but got defeated and damaged beyond repair. When Demon Go-Ne launched her attack by firing an energy beam from the moon to burn Earth into ashes, Yak Wat Jaeng was completed in time and dispatched to help Jumborg Ace.

However, due to some misunderstanding from Demon Go-Ne trickery, both robots fought against each other for a short time before coming to an understanding. They then joined forces to defeat Demon Go-Ne. After both kaiju and Jum Killer Jr. were defeated, Jumborg Ace used Demon Go-Ne's solar lens to burn her to dust. Then, both the Giant and Jumborg Ace smashed the lens to pieces. The Earth was saved.

Trivia

• Yak Wat Jaeng's suit in Jumborg Ace & Giant was different from the one used in Tah Tien. The suit was made to be lighter and allow more mobility for suit actors to perform action scenes. The Giant's design was also different, having a darker color, a wider face and smaller eyes with lighting.
• Sri Puek, who helped develop the Yak Wat Jaeng robot in Jumborg Ace & Giant, played the human form of the Giant in Tah Tien.
