Trivia[]
- This episode marks a major turning point in the originally planned 52-episode structure of the series, before it was extended to 65 episodes. From this point onward, the production team officially begins the main storyline leading to the final episode, "True Hero." This episode is considered a prologue to that conclusion.
- Producer Hiroyasu Shibuya noted that starting with this episode, Kenji Suzuki joined the team as special effects director. Suzuki previously worked as an assistant director on Ultraman 80, where he and writer Atsushi Maekawa had both worked on the same set. The designer of this episode's monster, Taildas, was also involved in monster creation during the Ultraman 80 era.[2]
- The episode also focuses on Fubuki, who launches the key weapon, the NX Bomb. A full-scale, 7-meter-long prop was built so that scenes of Fubuki rolling over it could be filmed practically. Despite advances in CGI, the realism and presence of physical props still offer an unmatched sense of authenticity. The NX Bomb model was so well-made that it was preserved after filming and later displayed at Ultraman Land.
