Trivia[]
- According to producer Ken Kumagai and episode director Sei Okamura, the production team initially attempted to borrow a tapir from major zoos in Tokyo for filming but was rejected by all of them. Okamura joked, "We weren’t trying to trouble the tapir—we just wanted to film it! But Tokyo was really stingy about it." Since they couldn’t secure a tapir in Tokyo, they had to travel to Shizuoka for the shoot, where they were finally able to complete the filming.[1]
- Okamura then discussed the message behind the episode. He expressed his hope that young people would develop their own "philosophy." While not necessarily a profound lesson, the story aimed to encourage viewers to reflect on personal growth, family bonds, and the importance of human relationships.
- This episode would later inspired the Ultraman 80 episode, "Visitor from Space."
- This episode marks Yoichi Kaji's final appearance in the series.
