Nursedessei

The Nursedessei (ナースデッセイ号, Nāsudessei-gō) is GUTS-Select's giant battleship and mobile base. The ship is captained by Seiya Tatsumi and piloted by Tesshin Sakuma. It has a bridge that also functions as the team's command center, and has a station for the GUTS Falcon's pilot. Each crew member has their own private quarters. It also houses Akito Hijiri's laboratory, where he keeps artifacts of the Ultra-Ancient Civilization for analysis.^[1]^[2] On the bottom of the ship is a pair of docking points for the GUTS Falcon.^[6]^[7]

It returns in Ultraman Decker, once again serving as the main base of operations for the newly-reformed GUTS-Select team.

History[]

Ultraman Trigger: New Generation Tiga[]

Marluru received the design for a Nurse through a "backdoor deal" with an Alien Wild. Marluru then introduced it to Akito Hijiri, and the two of them worked to build the Nursedessei based on the Nurse's schematics. However, they could never activate its Battle Mode because it would need to consume an enormous amount of energy, more than they could supply it. The Nursedessei was used as GUTS-Select's mobile base and dock for the GUTS Falcon, aiding Ultraman Trigger in battle.

The Nursedessei was once hacked by Dada PDO-3, causing it to go haywire and start haphazardly firing its Nurse cannon. After switching off the automatic controls and redirecting them to manuals, and clearing the Dada's virus in the systems through a bullet hell game, the Nursedessei was brought under control. Its Nurse Cannon was later used to destroy the digital life form's core. ^{The Propagating Invasion}

In response to Absolute Diavolo's appearance on the Earth, Akito was determined to get Battle Mode working by absorbing the Absolute Particle from Diavolo's body, after learning about it from data given to him by Ignis. GUTS-Select started Operation Dragon, distracting Diavolo by projecting a copy of Trigger's energy signature through the TPU's Cosmic Ray Research Institute and taking the Absolutian's energy using the Gan-Q Kaiju Key. The plan succeeded in part due to the Giants of Darkness' interference with Diavolo, allowing the Nursedessei to finally change into Battle Mode. The Nursedessei, along with Glitter Trigger Eternity and Ultraman Ribut, defeated Diavolo together, destroying his body but not his Absolute Heart, ending the Absolutian invasion for the time being. ^{Operation Dragon}

Ultraman Trigger: Episode Z[]

The Nursedessei and GUTS Falcon were called into action against Evil Trigger and Ultraman Z in an attempt to aid Trigger and Trigger Dark, but were immediately outmatched by Evil Trigger, who effortlessly grabbed the Nursedessei by its tail and swung it into the Falcon, destroying it, then slammed the Nursedessei into the ground, critically damaging the machine and leaving it incapable of continued operation. It was later repaired in the epilogue of the movie, as GUTS-Select held a welcome party for Kengo in it. ^{Ultraman Trigger: Episode Z}

Ultraman Decker[]

In the 7 year period absence of monster attacks, Nursedessei and GUTS Falcon were implemented with autopilot systems that enable them to fight independently, especially when GUTS-Select was disbanded. TPU deployed the two machines to repel the Sphere invasion, but both of them were disabled when Spheresaurus caused electromagnetic interference. ^{Day of the Attack}

One year after the planet-wide isolation, the Nursedessei underwent major modifications including a new bridge layout and a Neo Maxima Engine. The ship was then transferred to the restructured GUTS-Select, continuing the fight against the Sphere and other supernatural threats.

Ultraman Decker Finale: Journey to Beyond[]

Following the decisive battle of the Spheres, TPU began planning to mass-produce the Nursedessei as an escort ship for the comprehensive restart of space development. One year later, the first generation Nursedessei, after serving for approximately 11 years, was modified into a spaceship and launched from Earth to explore the universe. S-Plasma technology was also added to enable space travel.

At this stage, the Nursedessei escort ship project was also completed, and TPU produced the second generation escort ship for use by GUTS-Select on Earth. The second generation escort ship is painted with an orange coating. ^{Ultraman Decker Finale: Journey to Beyond}

Forms[]

Hangar Mode (ハンガーモード, Hangā Mōdo)^[3] is the Nursedessei's normal cruising mode. In this mode the GUTS Falcon can attach itself under the Nursedessei, and the ship can dock inside its hangar located inside the TPU Japan Headquarters.

Forms

Flying Form (フライング形態, Furaingu Keitai)^[8]: Normal cruising form with the ship's leg thruster sections facing rearward.
Landing Form (ランディング形態, Randingu Keitai)^[8]: The ship can vertically land on and take off from the ground by having its thruster leg sections rotated so that the feet are facing downward.

800mm Large-Scale Charged Particle Cannon "Nurse Cannon" (８００ミリ大型荷電粒子砲・ナースキャノン, 800-Miri Ōgata Kaden Ryūshi-hō Nāsu Kyanon)^[1]^[2]: A large charged particle cannon located on the starboard side of the ship (tail tip).^[1]^[2] Its energy output can be adjusted based on the mission.
- Energy Outputs
  - Normal: A normal charged shot has a rate of five minutes per shot.^[9]^{The Propagating Invasion}
  - 200% output: The cannon can fire two shots at 200% output with a small charge time in between. However, this would put strain on the ship's integrity and its generators.^{The One Hour Demon}
- Emergency Manual Shutdown
  - The cannon can be manually shutdown via two emergency shutdown bolt detonators, located separately inside two fire control system (FCS) boxes. Operators would need to access the ship's foredeck, open the cover of the boxes, remove the control panel safeties, and simultaneously shoot at both of the detonators with a firearm to deactivate the cannon.^{The Propagating Invasion}

Decker Era

- Neo Maxima Nurse Cannon (ネオマキシマ・ナースキャノン, Neo Makishima Nāsu Kyanon): Using Neo Maxima energy, the Nurse Cannon can fire an even more powerful beam.
Laser Rain (レーザーレイン, Rēzā Rein)^[3]: The Nursedessei has numerous laser gun ports occupying the entire hull. Each gun port fires a strand of golden laser that can bend to change its course of direction. The gun ports can fire consecutively, raining lasers down upon the target. During the Sphere invasion, the Nursedessei used these gun ports in this mode to destroy numerous Sphere Soldiers.
Anti-Ultra-Ancient Plant Herbicide: The Nursedessei can load canisters of herbicide modified to destroy Ultra-Ancient plants and release them in mist form from its belly.
Eye Laser: The Nursedessei can fire beams of red lasers from its eyes.

NursedesseiBattleModeRender — Nursedessei (Battle Mode)

Battle Mode (バトルモード, Batoru Mōdo)^[3] is an alternate mode for special combat situations. It is optimized for combat but its use requires a powerful energy source. Additionally, all of the rooms except the command center would become wrecked due to the mode’s way of maneuvering.

Before transforming, the GUTS Falcon would first need to undock and fly off. Starting from the tail section and ending at the head, the ship would then unfold and straighten itself. At the same time, the engine module on the starboard side would detach and reattach itself near the lower front half of the main body. The end parts of the engine modules would rotate and face forward, forming the legs and feet. Finally, the head section would reposition itself to complete the transformation process. Once completed, the dragon would maneuver in the sky via the thrusters under its feet and body.

Captain Tatsumi assumes overall command and is the one who fires the Maxima Nurse Cannon. Tesshin is in charge of piloting the Battle Mode, while Himari and Marluru are in charge of the weapon and radar systems respectively.

After its modernization, the Battle Mode is now piloted by Vice-Captain Sawa and the main gun manned by Captain Taiji.

Maxima Nurse Cannon (マキシマ・ナースキャノン, Makishima Nāsu Kyanon)^[3]: The Nurse Cannon mounted inside the main turret (head/mouth). The beam attack it fires is far more powerful than the standard Nurse Cannon.
- The cannon uses various Kaiju Keys for different beam attacks.
  - Nurse Key: The key for its main attack, which fires Absolute Particles at full power from the mouth.
  - Gargorgon Key: The Nursedessei fires a petrifying beam to temporarily turn its target into stone. However, an incomplete key would cause the Nursedessei to malfunction and petrify the main turret itself, rending most of the systems unusable until repairs are made.
  - Ultraman Ribut Key: The Nursedessei performs the Maxima Galaxium (マキシマ・ギャラクシウム, Makishima Gyarakushiumu) attack. The entire Nursedessei is encased with Galaxium energy when the key is used. It is unclear if it is a beam or ramming attack. Akito personally used it to defeat Darrgon by forcibly ramming through him. ^{My Friend}

Decker Era

Neo Maxima Nurse Cannon (ネオマキシマ・ナースキャノン, Neo Makishima Nāsu Kyanon): The Nurse Cannon mounted inside the main turret (head/mouth). The beam attack it fires is far more powerful than the standard Nurse Cannon. The cannon does not rely on Kaiju Keys like its predecessor and uses Neo Maxima energy.
Eye Laser: The Nursedessei can fire beams of red lasers from its eyes.

The DX release of the Nursedessei is a large toy that is able to convert between a Hangar Mode and a Battle Mode with a length span of 900mm and 24 points of articulation.

The head/main bridge can be swapped with a camera-equipped version of the unit (see below).

The Nursedessei head is also available separately as an interchangeable add-on unit for the DX toy above. This particular add-on is also equipped with a camera that allows the user to record any of the videos, which is wirelessly activated with a smartphone by installing the Hero Time: Ultraman (ヒーロータイム　ウルトラマン) app. The buyers' phone can also mount onto the included phone stand, though it must be placed horizontally.
