Mai Midorikawa is a member of Super GUTS who serves as a communication person. She is the one who nicknamed Dyna. She is 18 years old at the start of the series.
Personality[]
A cute, bubbly, loud cadet-type with little combat experience. She gets peoples' attention by saying 'neh-neh-neh,' and has the amazing ability to hide multiple items behind her back, only to whip them out in rapid succession. She seemed to develop feelings for Asuka in the series but only sees him as a teammate instead.
Her relationship with Ryo Yumimura is very good, the two are like sisters.

Utraman Dyna[]
When Shin Asuka's jet was shot by multiple Spheres and was stranded in space, he was taken to the TPC Hospital where Mai took care of him. After TPC Base on Mars was attacked by Darambia, Super GUTS went to Mars to destroy the Monster. After Kohda and Asuka's jet was blasted down, Asuka got out and mysteriously transformed into a Giant of Light. After they got back to base, Mai decided to name the giant Ultraman Dyna.

Mai was put into a coma after Deathfacer's attack, making Asuka lose his will to fight the robot until he was encouraged by Hibiki and Iruma. Ultraman Tiga & Ultraman Dyna: Warriors of the Star of Light

Mai does not appear in the movie, but The Complete Works Magazine revealed that Mai is currently a ZERO Training School instructor.

Trivia[]
- Mai is the one that gave Dyna his name and because of this, she is sometimes referred to as "Dyna's Godmother" .
- Mai's little brother Hiroki in the episode 47 of the series is portrayed by her actress' real life younger brother.
- Mai's actress, Mariya Yamada had once dated Takeshi Tsuruno, Asuka's actor. Of course, they never ended up in love with each other, which in fact was referenced by their characters in the series.
- While Mai seems to have finished school education, in real life, her actress is a high school drop-out.
- Mai was meant to have her return in Ultraman Saga. This never made out due to her actress Mariya Yamada being pregnant at the time of the recording.
