Pro-Wres no Hoshi Azteckaiser (プロレスの星 アステカイザー, Puroresu no Hoshi Asutekaizā, lit. Star of Pro-Wrestling Aztecaser) is a Japanese pro-wrestling-themed tokusatsu/anime superhero television series produced by Tsuburaya Productions, and a loose adaptation of the manga series of the same name written and produced by Go Nagai and Ken Ishikawa. Nagai and Ishikawa created three manga series, simply named Azteckaiser (アステカイザー, Asutekaizā), published in different magazines by Shogakukan. None of them are related to each other or the TV show. They were compiled in a single tankōbon in 1978 (Futabasha), 1986 (Asahi Sonorama) and 2001 (Futabasha).

The show was first broadcast on TV Asahi from October 7, 1976 - March 31, 1977.

Plot[]

After witnessing the death of his brother Daiji at the hands of Black Mist, an evil organization in the world of professional wrestling, Shun Takaba quit wrestling. He vowed to stop Black Mist and continued training secretly. When Black Mist reappeared a year after his brother's death, Shun gained the ability to transform into a warrior of justice Azteckaiser using the Star of Aztec, to fight and destroy the Black Mist organization.
