Evoltruster is the transformation device of all of Nexus' Dunamists, though it served various functions beyond transformations in Ultraman Nexus.
History[]
Ultraman Nexus[]
Upon inheriting the light, the Dunamists will be granted the Evoltruster along with a sidearm, the Blast Shot. Its main use is to release the light within it to transform into the Ultra whenever the situation calls for it.
Ultraman X[]
In episode 20 of the series, Tachibana, the deputy captain of Xio, became the sixth Dunamist and thus gained the Evoltruster; allowing her to transform into Nexus to save her family from Bemular and later assist Ultraman X in his battle with Bugbuzun.
Transformation[]
Several chosen individuals have transformed into Nexus but all used the same method to do so. The Dunamist first draws the Evoltruster from its sheath and then extends it into the air and it glows. From an outsider's point of view the Dunamist disappears into the light which may disappear to show Ultraman, grow larger and reveal Ultraman as a giant, or become a Travel Sphere. Their rise shows darkness illuminated by a burst of blue light which flashes open revealing a growing Nexus, followed by the blue light turning into streaks of orange and yellow sparks that follow suit.
Powers[]
- Shield: Dunamists can raise a shield with the Evoltruster to dispel projectiles.
- Astral Projection: Touching the Evoltruster within Stone Fluegel allows for any of Nexus' hosts an astral projection of their Ultra form which can create a Meta Field.
- Meta Field: Dunamists can project a Meta Field with the Evoltruster, doing so would cause them to skip Anphans and go directly into their secondary form.
- Presence Detection: Its most important ability, Nexus himself can sense when Space Beasts are running rampant, and alerts his host telepathically. When he detects them a surge of light glows in the Evoltruster.

Trivia[]
- It is the first transformation to be paired with a weapon, the Blast Shot.
- The Evoltruster seems to be Nexus' main method of communication to his Dunamists after their merger. Early on in the series, Himeya is seen questioning Nexus' motives, with the device flashing before Himeya images of a Space Beast attack.
- The Evoltruster has a dark counterpart, the Darkevolver, while the Evoltruster is based on a sword and scabbard, the Darkevolver had its design based on Naginata, according to the producers.
