Even Then the Universe Will Still Go on Dreaming is the twelfth episode of Ultraman Taiga.

Synopsis

Gymaira emerges from the underground and defeats Taiga. Threatening to drain the world's energy, Hiroyuki and Maria must work together to defeat the monster. However, a meddler interferes.

Plot

Continuing from the previous episode, as Taiga still weakened from his fight with Pagos, Gymaira defeated him with ease, grabbing Taiga around the throat and causing the Ultra to cry out in pain. Taiga was defeated, and disappeared. Hiroyuki, Homare, Kana, and Maria inspect Pagos' corpse after Gymaira leaves, that the sorceress touches the stone. Frustrated at his plan being foiled, Oshoro took Gymaira into hiding. However, Kirisaki approached him and transformed into Tregear, and then knocked him out. Tregear granted Gymaira extra energy, causing it to rampage on the surface. The earthquake rumbles that Maria runs away, followed by Hiroyuki, to a nearby stream after Gymaira causes tremors.

Seemingly unable to get back her magic powers, she talks to Hiroyuki and tells him about herself, but they are interrupted by Gymaira emerging. They run to an abandoned building, but Hiroyuki is unable to transform because all the magic drained. Maria tells him that magic never truly disappears, and will always return if someone believes in it hard enough. They are then ambushed by Oshoro, but Maria manages to muster up remaining magic power to fight him off and restore Taiga's energy, allowing Hiroyuki to transform into Taiga once again.

The two giants battled again, Maria later helps Taiga defeat Gymaira by giving him a power boost, and unleashing a pool of water, from Planet Sarasa, in the sky that Taiga assuming Photon-Earth to challenge the monster. After a short battle, Gymaira was destroyed by Taiga using the empowered version of Aurum Strium, further powered up by the water from the ocean of Planet Sarasa, which Maria unleashed. Oshoro teleports back to his spaceship that he tried to grant his dream but faints as the spaceship flies into space. The rest of Pagos' body was slowly dismantled and taken away by dump trucks after Gymaira was defeated. After the conflict was over, Maria thanked the EGIS members and flew away on her wand, which turned into a flying broom.

The battle against Gymaira reminded Taiga of his teacher, Ultraman 80. The Tri-Squad then discuss what subject they would teach if they also became teachers like him, but they go off topic a few times.
