Eternal Earth (地球より永遠に, Chikyū Yori Eien ni) is the second Ultraseven 30th Anniversary Memorial Trilogy episode of Heisei Ultraseven.

Synopsis[]

The UG was investigating Mount Fudou, which had experienced unexplained volcanic activity. Amidst the high concentrations of volcanic gas, where no living creature could survive, they discovered a human being. Upon analysis, it was revealed that this person was infected with a new strain of bacteria, causing their body to adapt to survive on sulfur gas as energy. What is the purpose of the scheming Alien Guts lurking in the shadows!?

Plot[]

The Ultra Guard were dispatched to investigate the volcanic gas in Mt. Fudo of Nagaura City after similar incidents were reported across the globe. They encountered a strange man attacking them while operating in a hazardous area without protection.

The injured attacker was analyzed to be mutated by a new strain of bacteria that allows him to operate in areas with rich hydrogen sulfide. Dan investigated Misaki Town after a string of disappearances, especially since it was already a ghost town to begin with. At a bar, Dan was treated as an uninvited guest until the bartender scare the other patrons away, allowing him to stay for a night. A mysterious caller contacted Dan through the store’s telephone, threatening him (Ultraseven) to get out of the city while his bartender was mysteriously attacked with sulfur-like substance. The attack was a set-up to chase him away from Misaki Town as police officers rushed to the scene, forcing Dan to leave. He was threatened by the same mysterious caller by demonstrating an exploded hotel in front of him.

Discovering Dan’s name as one of the suspects in Misaki Town’s murder case, Furuhashi ordered Kazamori and Satomi to find Dan, but he found them first in the middle of the journey and secretly disguise himself as the young man to investigate the town once again. As “Kazamori” and Satomi posed as teenagers looking new jobs, they join the convoy that lead them to a strange facility. He explained that aliens were behind the fake advertisements and the disappearance of job-hunting teenagers. While Kazamori further investigated the supposedly deceased bartender, Satomi was kidnapped by the Alien Guts. The bartender admitted that she was one of the mutated humans living on sulfuric bacteria, having agreed with Alien Guts’ demands after discovering Earth’s bleak future from the increasing volcanic activity. Refusing to believe in Guts’ propagandas, Seven try to fight the alien, but was defeated in an instant. He was given a disk containing their invasion plans and Earth’s upcoming future. “Kazamori” relay the info to Furuhashi and reassure the Ultra Guard that despite the provided information, Earth’s future is to be determined by mankind alone.

According to Alien Guts’ data, the mantle plume is a cycle of extinction initiated by Earth in order to reset the planet with new dominant life forms. The dinosaurs were believed to be one of its victims, and the Alien Guts try to at least preserve mankind so their species will live on another few years in the future. No exact date was given as to when the mantle plume disaster would happen, but the period would last for 10 days. TDF came to the conclusion to defy Alien Guts and instead paving their own fate of mankind’s future. Ultra Guard and TDF storm the sulfur human base, restraining all of the youths inside and rescuing Satome moments before her mutation. “Kazamori” try to convince the bartender to escape, but she chose to die in the facility’s destruction. Alien Guts escaped with his space ship and summoned a monster from Mt. Fudo. Rumi discovered the monster to be an Earth monster modified in the same way as the sulfur humans to secrete sulfuric gases. The monster severed the Ultra from his power source (the sunlight), but Shiragane cleared off the sky and the Ultra finished the monster with Wide Shot. Alien Guts try to escape, but Shiragane destroy his space saucer, killing the alien once it went crashing on earth.

“Kazamori” freed the real person from his capsule, removing his disguise as Dan. Dan also told him that the current generations of mankind are the right individuals to decide their future, but before Kazamori could ask for his identity, Dan vanished from the scene. As the Ultra Guard try to head home, Furuhashi stopped them, mistaking the real Kazamori for Dan in disguise.
