Dorgo [1][2][3] is an ancient Kaiju who first appeared in the fifth episode of Ultraman Blazar.
Subtitle: Mountain Kaiju [1][2][3]
Conception[]
Design[]
Dorgo was designed by character designer Tomo Hyakutake, who also handled Leviera.[4] This was done at the request of director Takanori Tsujimoto, who asked Hyakutake for a design which could blend in well with the Kaiju roster from the original Ultraman.[5]
History[]
Ultraman Blazar[]
An ancient kaiju which slept in Mt. Kirino in Akita Prefecture for over a thousand years, Dorgo was the local guardian deity of Ichinoji Village whose presence made the ground fertile and the water pure. The kaiju once rampaged but was stopped by a priest who used the statue of a deity in a ritual that put him to sleep. This statue became an object of worship, a Shintai, and a shrine was built around it as the villagers would come to offer their prayers to appease Dorgo. These events were recorded in a collection of emakimono scrolls named the Illustrated Chronicles of the Great Disaster at Mt. Kirino , one of which was passed down through the local shrine family.
In the modern era, the GGF would employ the use of the new automated self-defense railgun system, the Mega Shot, in response to the rise in kaiju-related incidents, and they would select Mt. Kirino as the testing site for this new weapon. However, their oversight in not researching on the legend of Dorgo beforehand led to them mistakenly demolishing the shrine to set up the supply convoy and installing the Mega Shot on Dorgo's back. With the seal on Dorgo broken, violent tremors throughout the testing site heralded his impending awakening.
Mizuho, the granddaughter of the shrine family, tried to warn the SKaRD about Dorgo's awakening through her childhood friend Anri, but without sufficient evidence the Mega Shot performance evaluation tests continued, with Earth Garon deployed to gauge its effectiveness. Soon enough, the explosions from the test awakened Dorgo from his thousand-year slumber, who in his enraged state managed to immobilize Earth Garon with his lightning ray. However, Dorgo then halted his aggressive behaviour, instead going back to sleep after drinking some water, presumably to cope with his sudden awakening.
Under Mizuho's suggestion and with the information gathered from Emi's acquisition of the remainder of the emakimono scrolls from a science museum, the SKaRD devised a plan to put Dorgo back into hibernation by re-enacting the ritual performed a millennium ago. To do that, Gento and Anri climbed the mountain kaiju to return the Shintai back to the shrine, but malfunctions in the backup generators of the Mega Shot caused Dorgo to awaken early. As Dorgo stirred, Gento was shaken off the kaiju, but the Blazar Brace appeared to him, and he transformed into Ultraman Blazar.
Blazar tried to stop Dorgo from moving so that Anri could complete her mission, but the Mega Shot's automated defense systems recognized him as a threat and began firing at him at point blank range. The combined might of the Mega Shot and Dorgo gave Blazar a difficult time until the timely arrival of Earth Garon, and their teamwork managed to disable the Mega Shot and disarm the kaiju. As Blazar held Dorgo down, Anri plunged the statue back into its rightful spot, and this finally made him fall asleep. With Dorgo resting once more, Blazar pushed his slumbering body back to its original location, where he would become part of the hillside again in time. The Mountain Roars
It was later revealed that Alien Cannan Herbie fired their Aurora Beam at Earth Garon during its battle with Dorgo. The Invading Aurora

Ultra Heroes EXPO 2023 Summer Festival Stage 2[]
According to a story that Ultraseven told his son, Ultraman Zero, a star able to grant wishes known as the Ancient Sacred Treasure was sealed alongside Dorgo. The story proved to be true, as the wishing star was discovered by a lonely boy who used it to create a pocket dimension in which he could endlessly relive an important memory of his visit to Sunshine City. Noticing that visitors to Sunshine City were seemingly vanishing, the SKaRD investigated the building, noting that the disappearances had only started after Dorgo was unsealed.
After the boy regained his hope for tomorrow, the dimension shattered and everyone was freed, and the wishing star appeared to drift away. It was later obtained by Nodachi Zamsher, who had heard rumors of Dorgo's unsealing. He planned to use it to travel across the Multiverse and take over all worlds, starting by wishing for a invincible body. As the Ultras were unable to harm him, they devised a plan to have Beliarok team-up with Nodachi Zamsher, allowing him to get close and steal the wishing star, nullifying its effect on him. However, Beliarok threw the wishing star into a portal to another dimension, meaning the Ultras had to search for it once again, much to Zero's annoyance.
