Dino-Tank[2][3][4][5][6][7][1][8] is a Kaiju that appeared in the TV series, Ultraseven. It appeared in episode 28.
Subtitle: Tank Monster
History[]
Ultraseven[]
A biological weapon created by the Alien Kill. After its masters were killed in action against the UG, Dino-Tank was unleashed. Emerging from the side of a mountain, it had the experimental explosive the TDF was working on, in its mouth. Dino-Tank attacked the Ultra Guard's testing site by using its laser eyes, knocking two members unconscious and burying Dan alive. Fortunately Dan was able to transform into Ultraseven and managed to rescue the two men from being crushed by Dino-Tank. Ultraseven had a hard time fighting Dino-Tank after the monster pummeled him with its tail and ran over his left arm. Ultraseven continued to fight back, however, and managed to get ahold of the monster by attacking it from its blind spot; its back. During the fray, Dino-Tank dropped the bomb from its mouth, giving Ultraseven the perfect opportunity to stop the weapon. As Ultraseven timed out Dino-Tank's returning assault, Ultraseven ignited the bomb with his Shuriken Ray and Dino-Tank was destroyed in the bomb's explosion. Sprint 700km!
Trivia[]
- The Dino-Tank suit would later be used to create the monster Rigger.
- Dino-Tank was one of the monsters seen in the stock footage scene of Seven's past battles in episode 48.
- Although the dinosaur part of the suit was sculpted by Ryosaku Takayama, the tank part of it was a reused miniature of the Type 61 tank that was borrowed from the movie studio Nikkatsu and which had been used in their kaiju film Gappa, which was released in 1967.
- The roars of Dino-Tank are sped-up roars of the Daiei monster Barugon.
- In episode 40 of Ultraman Taro, Dino-Tank has King Kong's growls.
Mega Monster Battle: ULTRA MONSTERS NEO (Galaxy Saga Mode)[]
A Dino-Tank was one of the many servants of Yapool in the Ultra Zone to aid Alien Guts-possessed Nurse in against ZAP SPACY and the Ultra Brothers.
Mega Monster Battle: Ultra Adventure[]
On Planet Aval, Dino-Tank was summoned by Bullton alongside Neronga to fight against Io Mikura's Gomora. The fight was initially seen to be on Bullton's favor when Dino-Tank continuously fire on the restrained Gomora under Neronga, but Kanegon's Red King helped turn the tides of the conflict. Dino-Tank was slammed against Neronga by the two Battlenizer monsters, then being forcefully ripped out of its tank by Red King.
While Dino-Tank's role largely remains the same in Mega Monster Battle: ULTRA MONSTERS, it was accompanied by Reicubas and Red King instead of Neronga.
Ultraman Orb Chronicle Chapter 2: 'I am the Galaxy's Migrating Bird' Arc[]
Dino-Tank was deployed to fight Ultraman Orb after Gai discovered that the meteor Balsas 6, that was apparently about to collide with Planet Cobol, was nothing but a hologram. Upon Dino-Tank's defeat, Gai exposed Murnau and Dr. Jiggle but the former escaped, leaving behind a yellow jewel that turns out to be the Element of Earth, which was installed into the Orb Calibur.
