History
Ultraman Dyna
Daigelun
Daigelun was originally a subterranean monster that burrowed through various areas, feeding on cattle. However, the creature became agitated and enraged when Geofrontier LLC introduced a new super oscillatory beam for constructing underground cities. The pulse of the beam disturbed Daigelun, causing it to circle the city where the beams were being used.
After Super GUTS identified the connection between Daigelun's behavior and the beams, Captain Gousuke Hibiki sent Toshiyuki Kohda and Shin Asuka to shut them down, while he went to negotiate with the Geofrontier manager. The manager, however, was furious at the request to halt operations and ordered the police to arrest Kohda and Asuka. He then increased the beam frequency to its maximum. This further enraged Daigelun, which burrowed like a shark and surfaced near the work site, attacking the beam generators.
Kohda initiated the evacuation of employees, but Asuka, the manager, and a secretary were trapped underground. Super GUTS launched an assault on Daigelun, but their attacks were ineffective, as the monster’s flames vaporized their efforts. Asuka transformed into Ultraman Dyna to engage the beast. Initially, Dyna and Daigelun were evenly matched, but the tide turned when Daigelun rammed Dyna with its head, gaining the upper hand.
Dyna fought back with a flurry of kicks, but Daigelun managed to bite down on Dyna’s foot, lifting him into the air and slamming him to the ground without loosening its grip. In response, Dyna transformed into Strong Type for the first time. He drove his free foot onto Daigelun's skull, crushing it and forcing the monster to release him. Dyna followed up with a powerful Strong Punch, further crushing Daigelun’s skull.
Daigelun retaliated by unleashing its flames, but Dyna deflected the attack with his Ultra Barrier, sending the flames back at the monster. In the final blow, Dyna used his Vulcan Swing, ultimately defeating Daigelun.Battle! Underground City

Daigelun was only released twice (by far) by Bandai in their Ultra Monster Series. The first time of the creature's release was in the 1998 Ultra Monster series. Although it was just called Daigelun, it had a color pattern strikingly similar to that of Clone Daigelun, who had sprays of white on a black body. The last Daigelun made (2000) used the same mold but had yellow paint marks whereas the original had white, thus becoming more similar to the original Daigelun. Daigelun (both) features articulation in the arms and legs, with a glue-sealed tail. He is number 108 in the 1998 series and 55 in the 2000 series.
