Ultraman Wiki

Cry of the Earth (地球の悲鳴, Chikyū no Himei) is the sixty-second episode of Ultraman Cosmos.

Synopsis

The Chaos-Chimera is at last completed and the EYES members are in high spirits. Cosmos also readies his resolve to sacrifice to save Earth. Meanwhile, Musashi wonders alone if fighting really is the only solution.

Plot

Thanks to the previous battle with Alt-Helzzking, the Chaos Chimera replication could be done. Doigaki gained insight that the SOAGG stone wavelength could be the catalyst for the Chaos Chimera enzyme multiplication. The research team, along with Doigaki, Shinobu, and Hazuki, celebrate the success and inform the good news to Team EYES.

While celebrating and being happy about the good news, Musashi still felt vacillating about the current fighting way. He asked Hiura's permission for him to go to the Kaburaya Islands. Although Fubuki got irritated by his attitude, Hiura let Musashi go. Later, Fubuki wondered why Hiura let Musashi go during this crucial moment of war with Chaos Header. Hiura responded by saying he understood Musashi's natural kindness, and the current way of fighting made Musashi hesitant and question himself about the meaning of the fight. Hiura also anticipated the condition where Musashi might not accept the escalating battles, although he also hoped Musashi could clear his mind immediately, which made Fubuki concerned. In the end, Hiura asked Ayano to send Chaos Chimera's data and samples to the Defense Force to increase battle power against Chaos Header in the final battle.

Back to Kaburaya Islands, Musashi visited Lidorias and was still wondering about the best way to fight Chaos Header. Noticing Lidorias' behavior, Musashi and Ikeyama hypothesized that Chaos Header had influenced the Earth's environment and ecology, making the Earth seem to cry due to Chaos Header's action.

A few days later, Team EYES decided to defeat Chaos Ultraman by luring him with Ultraman Cosmos's 1420 megahertz ultra signal and then kill him with the only Chaos Chimera missile, so the remaining Chaos Header on Earth would be removed completely before facing the final battle. As Team EYES arrived at Area U9, they had prepared and started the plan with TECCH Spinnars 1 and 2 on standby. Musashi had a brief talk with Doigaki inside the car about Chaos Header's continuing evolution and the current capabilities to defeat Chaos Header. Doigaki quickly brushed him off by replying that they should keep fighting. Minutes later, the ground was suddenly shaking and a monster emerged from underground, revealing a Dolba, a variant of Galbas, that seemed to be infected with Chaos Header. Fubuki, with TECCH Spinnar 1, intended to fire a Chimera missile at Dolba so the Chaos Header would be removed, but Doigaki reminded him that the Chimera missile had no such capability, and it would kill Dolba. Getting distracted and being unfocused, TECCH Spinnar 1 got shot by Dolba's fireball.

Instantly, Chaos Ultraman Calamity appeared. Doigaki presumed that the evil Ultraman might have predicted Team EYES' operation and used Dolba as a decoy. Chaos Ultraman then approached TECCH Spinnar 1 to destroy the plane, along with the only Chimera missile. Although Fubuki was reluctant to waste a Chimera missile, Hiura convinced him to get safe first. After the fighter jet was destroyed, Musashi shot and distracted Chaos Ultraman, only for him to get blasted by Chaos Ultraman's energy blast, and almost died from a second energy blast.

Shortly after the explosion of the energy blasts, Musashi found himself inside Ultraman Cosmos's memory scene. Cosmos explained that before he came to Earth, he tried to protect a planet from Chaos Header's threat. But, he failed as the ecosystem of that planet was forced to be changed by Chaos Header, and the world became dead. Musashi still couldn't believe, only for him to find that Cosmos said the truth and told his resolution to protect Earth as his atonement. Cosmos asked Musashi to transform, for the sake of Earth.

Back to reality, Musashi decided to transform, battling Chaos Ultraman again. After changing into Eclipse Mode, Cosmos quickly subdued Chaos Ultraman to have time for removing the Chaos Header from Dolba with his Cosmium Beam. Later, both Ultra fight again, with Chaos Ultraman Calamity gaining the upper hand and taking him down. The evil Ultra also shot TECCH Spinnar 2, so Team EYES had no remaining battle force. Seeing Cosmos got beaten, Dolba intended to help Cosmos by smashing its own body to Chaos Ultraman, only for the monster to be knocked out instantly with his energy blast. Enraged, Cosmos used his Eclipse Blade to hit Chaos Ultraman and knock him down. But, the guardian found himself instantly exhausted, and Chaos Ultraman saw this opportunity by firing a Calamium Shot at Cosmos, effectively almost beating Cosmos.

As the evil Ultra was about to finish Cosmos with his final attack, the Defense Force, along with Junya Nagare, came to the scene to distract Chaos Ultraman and fired a Chimera missile at him, effectively weakening Chaos Ultraman. Seeing this opportunity, Cosmos gained his strength back and fired his Cosmium Beam at Chaos Ultraman, finished him off, and finally cleared any remaining Chaos Header's essence on Earth.

Later, Nagare informed Hiura about the Defense Force's agreement to form alliances with Team EYES to fight Chaos Header in the final battle. While the team celebrated the formed alliances, Musashi fled from the scene to take Dolba to the Kaburaya Islands. Fubuki berated Musashi about his confusion and told him to face the reality, as if they didn't fight, there would be no future for them. Still not moved, Musashi was still left uncertain about the current way of fighting.
