Subtitle: Space-Time Drifter[1] (時空漂流獣, Jikū Hyōryū-jū, lit. Space-Time Drifter Beast)[2][3]

Conception[]

Etymology[]

Chronoceros' name is a portmanteu of two Ancient Greek Words: χρόνος (chrónos), meaning "time", and κέρας (kéras), meaning "horn", as in "rhinoceros". It is named by Sayuki Uta in its debut episode using this combination.

Design[]

Chronoceros was designed by Takanori Tsujimoto[4], who also directed its debut episode.

History[]

Ultraman Omega[]

A Chronoceros mother and child were migrating through time when they ended up on the future Earth. The former was attacked and severely wounded by whoever was there, while her child escaped to the past, though not without getting implanted with a device that hampered its time-jumping abilities. Chronoceros appeared in the modern day near a warehouse, sending out a gravitational anomaly that was detected by the KCST. Ayumu Ichido, Kosei Hoshimi and Sorato Okida went with Sayuki Uta to investigate, finding footprints that led them to the monster. They made repeated attempts to chase it down but failed each time due to its time-jumping, which Kosei experienced and thus comprehended its ability. Only after many more time jumps did the team manage to catch up to it, but Chronoceros fell unconscious from overexertion. Ayumu, Kosei and Sorato resuscitated Chronoceros by repeatedly compressing its chest after removing the device stuck on its back plate.

Chronoceros woke up and stopped running away from the four of them, after which they figured out that it must have returned to the past to get help. Sorato and Kosei volunteered to go to the future with Chronoceros, where they saw the planet in ruins and Chronoceros' mother lying unconscious. Sorato then transformed into Ultraman Omega to revive the adult Chronoceros. It was at that time when several Missile Ships appeared from portals and began to bombard Omega, who was protected by Rekiness. Once the adult Chronoceros was able to stand again, Omega used the Rekiness Caliber to cut the ships apart, saving the mother and child monsters who could migrate through time in peace again.
