Trivia[]
- According to Lloyd Morris's 2020 interview:[1]
- He initially secured the role of Charles through a standard casting process. Although he was not familiar with the Ultraman, he was well aware that this was the first live-action television series outside Japan for the Ultraman franchise and considered it very significant.
- He only watched the original Ultraman series after filming. At that time, he did not realize that Charles was a comedic character. What he appreciated most about Charles was that, despite having social issues with others, he had a kind heart.
- It is said that Tsuburaya Productions took them out for a Christmas dinner and promised a promotional trip to Japan. Not wanting to show any disrespect, he forced himself to eat sashimi. However, they only sent Dore Kraus and Gia Carides, and it wasn't until 30 years later that he traveled to Japan.
- Regarding the production of the series, Morris mentioned that the team initially tried to shoot the monsters using miniatures, but the results were unsatisfactory. As a result, they had to reshoot with actors in monster suits. Before filming began, the production team had attempted to use miniatures for the monster battles but were unsuccessful. So, by the time the main actors arrived on set, they had already hired a suit actor to play Ultraman in his evolved form.
