Big Surprise! A Toy Rebellion (驚天! オモチャの反乱, Gyōten! Omocha no Hanran) is the twenty-seventh episode of Gridman the Hyper Agent.

Plot[]

One day, a remote-controlled tank toy went out of control and attacked one of the three children. This was a result of a monster named Boranga terrorizing the Computer World, which Takeshi had sent after being agitated that the children used the tank toy to shoot him with paintballs without apologizing, and now feeling satisfied that he was avenged. Apparently Taro, the boy who owned said toy tank happened to be Daichi’s friend. Daichi asked for his mother to buy said tank, only for Taro’s friend to call him about Taro’s injury. While visiting the boy’s home, Daichi stole the remote-controlled tank and was kidnapped by a pair of individuals who mistook him for Taro. Daichi was able to alert Naoto of the kidnapping and at the same time, Takeshi and Kahn had Boranga hacked the toys in the entire town into a rampaging spree. However, the kidnappers realized too late that they took the wrong boy and was forced to use Daichi as a ransom instead. While the Sho family try to give the kidnapper, Toru, the ransom money, a series of mishaps allowed Amagasaki (a new officer who replaced Koganemura) to catch the culprit at the same time.

Apparently before that, Toru’s girlfriend brought Daichi to a toy factory that his father used to run in the past before they went bankrupt. Toru’s girlfriend revealed that they were desperate for 5 million Yen in order to pay the factory’s debt, and while they originally worked tirelessly to obtain the money, she lost it and this forced them to resort to kidnapping in order to regain the exact amount of it. At the same time, Boranga’s attack caused the entire toys in the factory to attack them. Naoto merged with Gridman to fight Boranga, while Daichi and the girl try to survive in the toy factory. By fusing into King Gridman, the Hyper Agent defeated Boranga and stopped the autonomous toy attacks.

While Toru and his girlfriend were arrested, Amagasaki reported to them that their lost money of 5 million Yen was rediscovered, at least saving their factory from being shut down.
