Bazanga was initially conceived and illustrated by designer Kengo Kusunoki as an original Ultra Kaiju tribute design in 2007 under the names Evil-saurus (エビルザウルス, Ebiruzaurusu) and Dead-Lobster, and posted the design on his Twitter account in 2015.[4] In 2023, after joining Tsuburaya Productions, Kusunoki's design was approved and developed further into the final design for Bazanga.

History

Ultraman Blazar

A monster from space, Bazanga landed on the Earth in Ikebukuro, Tokyo, where it went on a rampage. The GGF sent out multiple teams and prepared several countermeasures, but had thus far all failed to deter the space monster. Captain Gento Hiruma and his team were airdropped and intended to strike at Bazanga using special ammunition to target its respiratory organs between the folds of its shell, but encountered several obstacles including contradictory orders from the higher ups. After Gento got the aircrafts to lure Bazanga to a suitable firing location, the monster became enraged and started attacking more aggressively, blowing away another special team which Gento went over to help alone. When their last member fell unconscious, the Blazar Brace and Blazar Stone suddenly appeared to Gento, who found himself transformed into Ultraman Blazar.

Blazar fought against Bazanga, marking the first appearance of an Ultraman on the Earth. While protecting the people around him, Blazar fought against Bazanga but was struggling until Emi Aobe fired one of the special rounds at Bazanga's weak point - its nose, disorienting it and giving Blazar a chance to make a comeback. After tearing off both of the blasters on Bazanga's arms, Blazar defeated the monster by hurling his Spiral Burrade at it, destroying the monster at last. First Wave

Later, following the defeat of Gebalga, according to Yasunobu's investigation from his amateur astronomer friend, Bazanga and a mysterious meteorite back in 1999 invaded Earth from the exact same path as Gebalga. Combined with the fact that Garamon's coming was from a different trajectory, this spawned the rumor that these three came from the same planet; to make matters more bizarre, said topics would be immediately deleted from social media. Bazanga would later reappear as a wandering spirit before being vanquished by Zangill. The Wandering Zangill

Stats
  • Height: 51 m[1][2]
  • Weight: 26,000 t[1][2]
  • Origin: Space
  • Weakness: Bazanga's nose is a weak point, and striking at it will at least disorient the monster, preventing him from firing his blasters at least temporarily. However, the GGF had seemingly believed the gill organs on Bazanga's chest to be its weak points instead.
Powers and Weapons
  • Organic Blasters: Each of Bazanga's arms have four vent-like openings that function similarly to gatling guns, allowing him to fire explosive spine-like projectiles from these openings.[1]
    • Thorn Phalanx (ソーンファランクス, Sōn Farankusu)[5]: When he gets aggravated, Bazanga enters rage mode,[6] where the horns on his head rotate upwards, and his cannons change elevation from a diagonal angle to level, allowing him to shoot with greater precision. In this state, the range and time before detonation of its projectiles is also increased, granting Bazanga a substantial increase in firepower.
  • Carapace: Bazanga's scale-like skin is hard and resistant to attacks such as missiles, bombs, and artillery shells.[6]
