"Take this...[...] It's a relic that has absorbed the light of the stars over eons."
- ―Yuzare giving the Ancient Sparklence to Kengo Manaka, The Encounter of Light and Darkness
Ancient Sparklence is a relic from Ultraman Trigger: New Generation Tiga that serves as the basis for GUTS Sparklence. It can also act as a transformation device.[1]
History[]
Ultraman Trigger: New Generation Tiga[]
The Ancient Sparklence was in Yuzare's possession in the Ultra Ancient era. Its main functionality is to gather light energy from the stars. When encountering a time-displaced Kengo Manaka, Yuzare gave him the device to catch up with the Giants of Darkness and connected with Trigger Dark as the giant was about to harness the energy from Eternity Core.
In the present day, the Ancient Sparklence was presented to Mitsukuni Shizuma by Ryuichi Tokioka, and given to Akito Hijiri, who would later use it to create the GUTS Sparklence firearms for the GUTS-Select members while creating a transformable version that will be compatible for Trigger (who also hoped that he himself will be chosen to be the Ultra's host). At least at one point, Ignis attempted to steal the Ancient Sparklence during his first intrusion into Nursedessei, but the team managed to get it back at the height of Okagubila's rampage.
Ultraman Trigger: Episode Z[]
The Ancient Sparklence was used by Zabil to transform into Evil Trigger after he had revealed his betrayal and used the lives of five Leyrah cultists to create a "light" based on Ultraman Trigger's data, extracted from Kengo's GUTS Sparklence and Hyper Keys.
Powers[]
- Light Energy Absorption: The device's original purpose, according to Yuzare, is to absorb light energy from the stars.
- Inner Space Creation: When used by a time-displaced Kengo, he is able to bring himself and Trigger Dark into an empty space.

Trivia[]
- Designer: Takahiko Waki[2]
- Befitting its role as a transformation device, the Ancient Sparklence's product is slated to have programmed transformation noises of Trigger's Multi Type and Glitter Trigger Eternity.
- Although its grip can load a Hyper/Kaiju Key, the real life product as a whole lacks a Hyper Gun mode.
- Though, the actual prop of the Ancient Sparklence used in the series actually lacks the Hyper/Kaiju Key grip entirely.
- The ancient carving on the Ultra-Ancient Stone Tablet portrays the Ancient Sparklence as a torch.
- The Ancient Sparklence heavily resembles to that of the Bronze Sparklence from Ultraman Tiga Side Story: Revival of the Ancient Giant.
- Coincidentally, both Sparklences were involved being used by time-displaced characters.
