Allosaurus (アロサウルス, Arosaurusu) is a famous genus of large extinct carnosaurian theropod dinosaurs that lived during the Late Jurassic period.

A Allosaurus was one of the many poacher targets in Dinosaur Expedition Born Free.

The stop motion Allosaurus puppet would later be seen among Ururu's army in Dinosaur Great War Izenborg.
- The puppet used for close ups of the Allosaur would later go on to be used for shots of Arrow, Alulu, Gorgo and Ororo spitting flames in the same series.
Allosaurus as well as Brontosaurus, Brachiosaurus, Diplodocus and Stegosaurus are the only dinosaurs in the series that lived during the Jurassic period.

Allosaurus means "different, other-lizard" in Greek.
Real-life Allosaurus had a weak bite, but a reinforced skull and powerful neck muscles. Some paleontologists have argued that they used their upper jaw as a hatchet, incapacitating their prey with repeated blows.
