Alien Ruperts (ルパーツ星人, Rupatsu Seijin), is a race of aliens that first appeared in Ultra Q. Their representative was named Zemi (ゼミ).

History

Ultra Q

One day, Jun Manjome, Yuriko Edogawa and Ippei Togawa were aboard a passenger ship. After losing a game of cards, Yuriko was walking alone on the deck when she noticed a doll lying at her feet. Moments later, she observed a glowing object falling from the night sky. The doll then unexpectedly spoke, introducing itself as "Zemi," an Alien Ruperts, and warned Yuriko that a kaiju named Bostang had invaded Earth. Feeling uneasy, Yuriko impulsively threw the doll into the sea.

Upon returning to her room, Yuriko recounted the bizarre incident to Manjome and Ippei, but neither believed her story. Later, while flying in a Cessna aircraft, Manjome and Ippei mysteriously lost control of the plane, and their vanished. The now-unmanned Cessna landed autonomously at Hoshikawa Aviation, where Yuriko was waiting.

Manjome and Ippei found themselves in an unfamiliar, rocky landscape. After wandering for a while, they discovered a building that appeared to be a bar, but it was completely devoid of customers or staff. As they entered, the door suddenly closed, and a record player began to play a message from Zemi, urging them to take action against Bostang. Zemi revealed that it had remotely controlled the Cessna to bring Manjome and Ippei to this mysterious location. Despite Zemi's assertions, the two remained skeptical of the doll's claims. In response, Zemi declared that he would travel to Earth from Planet Lupart and instructed Manjome and Ippei to proceed to the Central Library.

Manjome and his team reunited with Yuriko and headed to the Central Library, where they met Zemi. Zemi explained that he had come to Earth on a mission to defend it, under Space Directive M774. According to Zemi, the malicious extraterrestrials known as the Alien Keel had dropped the egg of the kaiju Bostang on Earth as part of their invasion plans. Bostang had already hatched and was attacking tankers.

Manjome and Ippei reunited with Yuriko and proceeded to the Central Library, where they encountered a woman named Kiyomi Ichijo (一条 貴世美, Ichijō Kiyomi), who was actually Zemi in disguise. Zemi explained that she had arrived on Earth under Space Directive M774, tasked with the mission of protecting the planet. She revealed that a hostile extraterrestrial group known as the Alien Keel had planted the egg of the kaiju Bostang on Earth as part of their invasion plan. The egg had already hatched, and Bostang was actively attacking tankers.

Following Zemi’s information, Manjome and his team went to the harbor, where incidents involving missing tankers were indeed occurring. Convinced of Zemi's credibility, Manjome volunteered to join the captain of a patrol ship and boarded the vessel. Zemi soon detected Bostang’s presence, and the kaiju, resembling a stingray, emerged from the sea.

The captain attempted to engage Bostang with the ship’s cannon, but Zemi intervened, cautioning that conventional weapons would be ineffective and might only provoke the creature. She explained that Bostang was highly sensitive to sound and instructed the crew to shut off the ship’s engines. Once they followed Zemi's advice, Bostang ceased its movements. However, a nearby passenger ship carrying 500 people was approaching the area. The team managed to contact the passenger ship and have it stop its engines, temporarily averting the immediate crisis, although Bostang began to move toward the passenger ship.

With the lives of 500 passengers at stake, Manjome and his team devised a plan to use themselves as bait by restarting their engine to divert Bostang's attention, allowing them to launch an attack. At that critical moment, a rescue squad arrived with fighter aircraft and bombarded Bostang, successfully defeating the kaiju.

With his mission accomplished, Zemi decided to remain on Earth. In reality, Zemi was one of many extraterrestrials who had come to Earth under similar directives to protect the planet. These beings live among humans in disguise, concealing their true identities to guard Earth from external threats.Space Directive M774
