"Look, an Earth Defense Force aircraft patrol unit is approaching!"
"The Arctic is our territory. Nobody is supposed to set foot on it!"
- ―Alien Cannan gloating Arctic as their personal territory.
Alien Cannan[1] is an alien race that first appeared in Ultraseven episode 24. While not particularly strong compared to the other aliens that planned to conquer Earth during Seven’s protection of the planet, their power lies in their ability to manipulate technology into following their every command.

History
Ultraseven
After a bizarre plane crash in the arctic the UG went to investigate the matter. As they sent one of their fighters to investigate Alien Cannan used their lighthouse-like base to create an aurora and took control of an airliner. Shigeru Furuhashi who rode the UG plane was also stuck flying to a airline plane, but Dan was sent to help the situation. Alien Cannan used lasers to scare Dan off, but it did not work and the hero continued moving towards them. From that point Dan went on foot and used Windom against the Alien Cannan's base, but before any damage could be done the capsule monster was hit with the hypnosis beam and was sent against Dan, who then turned into Ultraseven. After tiring out Windom, Ultraseven used the Emerium Beam to break the hypnosis and sent him against Alien Cannan once more. Windom was forced back into his capsule after being hit with Alien Cannan's stun ray. Just then, the Alien Cannan launched their base like a rocket trying to escape to outer space, but Ultraseven followed them and destroyed the base with a single blast of the Wide Shot. Furuhashi luckily dodged the crash as Cannan's powers where gone.
Trivia
- Their home world is an ice world and their reason for invading the arctic is because it was similar to their home planet's environment.
- Due to this, their species is weak against heat.
- All Alien Cannan that appeared in the episode were females. It is unknown if the Alien Cannan are a unisex race of only women like the Alien Pitt.
Ultraman Blazar
An Alien Cannan named Herbie [2][3] had come to Earth in search of a new home after countless wars made Planet Cannan uninhabitable. Joined by their partner Robbie , they planned to take over the planet by turning all of Earth's machinery against humanity using their Aurora Beam technology, which would allow them to awaken and manipulate the strong negative emotions that dwell in all machines.
The Alien Cannan headquartered themselves in a spaceship disguised as a wind turbine overlooking Sodegazaki Beach, and were responsible for the recent occurrences of airplanes and vehicles going haywire as a test for the upcoming invasion. Viewing the SKaRD as a threat, Herbie investigated and chanced upon Earth Garon, seizing the opportunity to use the Aurora Beam on the mecha during its fight against Dorgo.
Herbie then set their eyes on Yasunobu, Earth Garon's head mechanic, and extended him an invitation to join the Alien Cannan, going so far as to demonstrate the powers of the Aurora Beam on Cururu , a dryer in the laundromat. Yasunobu rejected the offer and attempted to shoot the invader down, but this was to no effect due to the Aurora Beam's powers, and Herbie left through a portal, disappointed.
After Herbie returned to base, the Alien Cannan proceeded with their invasion plan and remotely activated the Earth Garon to defend their ship, but to their surprise Yasunobu had tracked them down. Robbie was swiftly shot and killed after a brief distraction, but Yasunobu was caught off-guard by Herbie, who held him at gunpoint and brought up a display showing an berserk Earth Garon, who pursued the SKaRD before Ultraman Blazar intercepted the mecha. As Herbie watched on in delight, they failed to notice that Yasunobu had escaped, and shortly after, he managed to regain control of the mecha. With the tables turned, Herbie attempted to escape in their ship, but they and the spacecraft were quickly disposed of by the Spiral Burrade. The Invading Aurora
Later, while not physically appearing, Cannan appeared as an illusion of Yasunobu's greatest fear created by Mogusion, used to hide its true appearance. Terror from the Underground
