Akko (アッコ) is a character in Ultraman Max. She was a blind girl who wanted to be musician. She transformed the ferocious Neo IF into his peaceful, musical form by playing her flute.

History[]

Ultraman Max[]

An orphan, Akko had desired to be an artist until she lost her sight after an operation to cure her of an eye disease. She instead desired to be a musician. She was also a friend of DASH member Mizuki, who was there for her during her fail operation to restore her sight.

On the day of her premiere performance, the public hall was attacked by If, resulting in destruction. Not even DASH or Ultraman Max could halt If's rampage. That night, the city was on the brink of devastation due to If's fury. Amidst all this chaos, Akko hid under the table at home, holding her favorite piccolo, muttering to herself, "Why?!... Why can't I do something like music?..."

Refusing to flee, Akko ventured alone to the ruins of the public hall where her solo concert was supposed to take place, traversing through the rubble of the city engulfed in flames.

Sad, covered in dirt, and feeling lost, the blind girl stumbled upon If's sleeping form. Akko asked If, "Mr. Monster, do you dislike music? I really like it." Then, she began to play the piccolo in front of If. After noticing, If's body emitted a glow, and something like a pipe popped out. Thinking that If was about to launch missiles again, Akko cried in fear and lowered her head. But at that moment, Akko heard music. She lifted her head and realized that the music was being played by If. If and Akko played together.

In the ruins, Mizuki found Akko and ran over, grabbing a gun in an attempt to protect her. However, she was surprised to see If's body undergoing a transformation. His sword-like right arm turned into a flute, and his entire body transformed into golden instruments. Gradually, If's body began to take on something resembling a goddess statue, shimmering with golden light. Mizuki lowered the gun. Upon noticing Ultraman Max, she then took Akko, who was still playing the piccolo, and boarded the car. Ultraman Max floated the car in the air and guided If to ascend into space. Mizuki and the team members smiled.

Seeing this scene, the members of DASH believed, "Responding to music with music. Akko saved the world." They also hoped that one day, if DASH were to disband, it would be the moment when peace was achieved on Earth.
