Akito's Promise (アキトの約束, Akito no Yakusoku) is the fifth episode of Ultraman Trigger: New Generation Tiga.

Synopsis[]

A massive monster with huge horns has suddenly appeared. That monster is Deathdrago, the first monster that appeared before humanity six years ago. Faced with Deathdrago’s return, Akito seems to have gone a little strange. What connection could there be between Akito and the monster that begins it all!? And will Kengo be able to make Akito smile!?

Plot[]

While GUTS-Select tries to evacuate the citizens and diverting Deathdrago's attention, Akito's act in confronting the monsters ended up putting the team's operation in jeopardy. It gets to the point where Kengo has to transform into Trigger and fight the monster, even protecting Akito from the attack before it retreated.

Akito's recklessness resulted in his temporary suspension for three days. Yuna tells Kengo of how the monster related to Akito. Several years prior, the Hijiri family (Akito and his parents) were Mitsukuni's sole supporters after his claims of the incoming attacks from the Giants of Darkness and monsters were dismissed by the public. Together, they developed the GUTS Wing and used it for the first time in against the first appearing monster, Deathdrago. While the monster retreated, Akito lost his parents during Deathdrago's rampage and lives with the Shizuma family. Although he becomes withdrawn after believing that all his family did were all in vain, he nevertheless made a promise with Yuna. Elsewhere, Carmeara empowers Deathdrago with her dark energy.

At the Shizuma mansion, Kengo tries to cheer Akito, but Deathdrago resurfaces with similar energy reaction to past monsters. Akito joins in the fight despite his suspension, allowing him to support Yuna during Darrgon's attempt on her life while Kengo fights Deathdrago as Trigger. As Trigger defeated Deathdrago through Sky Type, Yuna slapped Darrgon in order to save Akito. Her determination convinces Darrgon to retreat for the time being.

Akito's suspension is added for another three days, but the captain reassured Akito to cool his head off for the time being. Meanwhile, Akito decided to keep Kengo's white rose in his lab.
