Akiji Kobayashi , sometimes credited Issei Mori, was a Japanese actor and voice actor. His real name was Shoji Kobayashi . He was best known in the West for portraying the role of Captain Toshio Muramatsu in Ultraman. He also played Tōbei Tachibana in the Kamen Rider series.
Death
Akiji Kobayashi died of lung cancer on August 27, 1996 in Yokahama, Japan. He was 65 years old at that time.

Trivia
- Akiji Kobayashi was meant to reprises his role as Shouchiku, a fisherman in Ultraman Zearth, again in Ultraman Zearth 2. However, Akiji passed away during filming so a photograph of him was shown in the film instead.
