TAC agent Mikawa visits Mushitaro Kuri, an old acquaintance from middle school, who shows her a drawing he made of the terrible-monster, Garan. At the same time, TAC investigates a recently discovered fish that is millions of years old and resembles the drawing that Kuri made. While transporting the fish, however, the truck flies off into the sky.
Mushitaro Kuri's residence was filmed at the former Raita Fujiyama and Aiichiro Fujiyama residence in Shirokanedai, Tokyo. The building was demolished in 1979.[1]
Some members of the production team questioned whether it was appropriate for a skeleton to be shown in Mushitaro Kuri's secret room, but Yamagiwa convinced them by citing that Edogawa Ranpo's The Boy Detectives Club did similar things.
Mitsuhiro Sano, Yoshimura's actor, struggled with action scenes in this episode and could not drive at the time. When he was not present when they filmed a stunt driver, who would be replaced by Sano in the next shot, getting out of a car, Yamagiwa grew frustrated, saying "You need to be watching! We'll be filming a close-up of you getting out, so watch!" Yamagiwa noted that Sano still remembered this, even fifty years later.
