10 Days of Ultraman

The 10 Days of Ultraman was a series of daily transmedia events and promotions spanning from July 1^st to July 10^th 2022 in the run up to Ultraman Day for the international Ultraman Series fanbase. The events and offers were primarily distributed on Ultraman Connection and its associated platforms, with additional backing by Tokushoutsu and Iceberg Theory.

Daily Schedule

Day 1 ~ 4: Anime Expo 2022

Initially teased in Ultraman Connection Watch Party: The Destined Crossroad, the first four days of the 10 day events was the Ultra Series presence at Anime Expo 2022, in a series of panels and shows with an interconnected storyline dubbed Ultraman Rising. The festivities began with an opening battle between Ultraman and Bemular, before Ultraman Max star Sean Nichols took to the stage to introduce the brand to the audience and detailed the events happening throughout the expo, as well as showcasing the live action version of the Ultraman Suit. Soon, Alien Baltan and Dada invaded the stage, with Ultraman returning to put them in their place. Sean went on to announce the Hunt for Dada event, in which convention-goers were to try and find and photograph Dada in the expo halls and post the images to social media to help the UCL (Unidentified Capture League), from the online Ultraman Connection Live storyline, track down the alien menace, with a chance to win prizes. The winners would be picked at random. Ultra Kaiju Monster Rancher was also announced for a western release at Bandai Namco's Summer Showcase Panel, with Gomora, Alien Baltan and Zetton joining the panel while the game was discussed.

A second live show was held on the second day, known as the Super Ultraman Extravaganza. The show began with Ultraman returning to do battle with Baltan, Bemular and Gomora. A few discussions were held with staff from the Netflix animated Ultraman movie and Marvel Comics, who showcased new key art for the upcoming movie and announced a comic crossover miniseries between Ultraman and The Avengers. Soon after, Alien Metron took to the stage, to which Ultraseven arrived to save Sean. After the alien remarked he was not going to be as civil as his predecessor, he summoned Eleking to assist, but both threats were defeated. The show also featured the world debut of the live action version of the Taro Suit from season 2 of the ULTRAMAN Netflix Anime, and confirmation that NOILION would return to produce the opening theme to the third and final season of the show. To close the show, a group of human enemies flooded the stage, with the Ultraman Suit, followed soon by the Ver. 7, Ver. A and Taro Suits, arriving to defeat them.

Throughout the next few days, there were various panels focusing on differing aspects of the franchise's global push and the announcement of a theatrical re-edited release of season one of the ULTRAMAN anime. Guests could also meet-and-greet Dada and Baltan wandering the expo halls, view various Ultraman products and costumes on display at the Bandai booth and take photos with Ultras from the anime. The panel held on the third day of the event can be viewed in the "Exclusive Videos" section of the UltramanConnection.com members page when logged into a free account.

On the final day, at the expo's closing ceremony, Sean revealed the Hunt for Dada had concluded and that the alien threat was contained thanks to the fans' efforts. Having taking a liking Earth, Dada decided to take it for himself. With the cries of the audience, Ultraman and Ultraseven returned to face the alien and his summoned Eleking and Zetton. After a brutal battle, the day was saved by the Ultras, ending the Ultra Series' presence at the convention.

Day 5: The Great Sale

For 24 hours, all merchandise that can be purchased through the Ultraman Connection members page went on sale. All items were given a 30% discount for the day.

Day 6: Trivia Night

From 8 pm PST on July 6^th, fans were given the opportunity to talk directly to Jeff Gomez and E.J. Coulouccoundis from Starlight Runner through the official Ultraman Connection Discord server, asking them questions on the future plans, opinions on different things and testing their own knowledge of the franchise with obscure trivia questions.

Day 7: Episode Z Unleashed

For 24 hours, Ultraman Trigger: Episode Z became available to watch completely for free on the Ultraman Connection website, as opposed to the usual method of having to pay a fee to rent the movie for a week.

Day 8: Decker is Here

In celebration of the premiere of Ultraman Decker, a post-premiere fan discussion of the first episode of the series with Jeff Gomez, E.J. Coulouccoundis and Evangelia Artemis was held on the Ultraman Connection Discord server, where fans and staff alike could interact and remark on the episode.

Day 9: The Ultraman Art Show

A competition in which fans could submit pieces of Ultra Series fan-art through the Ultraman Connection Discord server for a select period of time starting July 9^th, with submissions would be judged by staff members. Winners would have their pieces showcased on the Ultraman Connection Instagram account, while others would become official emotes on the Discord server. Some pieces were given special commentary by Sean Nichols.

Day 10: Ultraman Day

The main event: two hour-long Ultraman livestream events taking place back to back.

Tokushoutsu livestream

The first of the two livestreams was Tokushoutsu & Ultraman Connection Present: Ultraman Rising! - The Ultraman Day Special. Hosted by Sean and Mike "Mach" Dent (a.k.a. Vintage Henshin), this free event began at 8pm EST on the Tokushoutsu website and streaming platforms.

It began with a recap of the complete UCL storyline presented in the Ultraman Connection Live shows, followed by Eric Bright and Vanessa Hughes at Anime Expo 2022 searching for Dada, who is described as a physical manifestation of the digital residue of Powered Dada on convention-goers' phones, as well as Baltan. They decide to request help from people at the convention, providing the context for the Hunt for Dada activity. Next was a description of the Ultraman Series itself and an overview of recently released Ultraman projects including Ultra Galaxy Fight: The Destined Crossroad, the ULTRAMAN anime, Shin Ultraman, the Ultraman Marvel comics and Ultraman Decker. Then, there were interviews with the Ultraman Connection staff and recorded highlights from the Ultra Series presence at Anime Expo. Similar to the previous year's Ultraman Day event, segments of the program were intercut with Spark Dolls Theatre U.S.A., a series of comedic skits using Ultraman toys made by YouTuber Monster Island Buddies.

The event concluded with an exclusive pre-recorded live battle show. Absolute Tartarus fought against Ultraman Zero, commenting on how Ultras are strong due to the connections they have with each other. To meet his end of eradicating the Ultras, Tartarus trapped Zero within Bullton's fourth dimension and headed to the past where he planned to destroy Ultraman Tiga whilst he was still petrified as a statue and contained within the pyramid, due to Tiga being a recurring fusion component of several future Fusion Ultras. Arriving in the past, Tartarus was met by Ultraman Gaia and Ultraman Agul, to which he set Golza, Gazort and Moravia on the two to deal with. Arriving at Tiga's pyramid, Tartarus' advancement was halted by the sudden presence of Kyrieloid. With Absolute Diavolo and Absolute Titan arriving to assist their comrade, Kyrieloid retreated. As the Absolutians were about to destroy Tiga, Gaia, Agul and Zero returned, now with Ultraman Dyna joining them. Dyna awoke Tiga to aid them and together, they successfully defeated the Absolutians, forcing them to retreat.

Ultraman Connection Live: Ultraman Day 2022

The second of the two was a paid event held on Ultraman Connection, specifically revolving around and celebrating the recent premiere of Ultraman Decker with some of the main cast members, as well as celebrating various other projects' milestone anniversaries.
